40:35The use of characterised drug supply is massive, and it is a countrywide problem.
40:44It's very easy money.
40:45You can see why people who haven't got much in life, like a lot of these unfortunate people haven't, do what they do.

40:57But to get near anywhere like that is, it's proving difficult.
41:03So you tend to target the kind of medium criminals involved in it.
41:07Maybe the ones that are being used as mules to move the drugs around the country.
41:11They've been fighting the war on drugs for many, many decades before I was born, and they'll still keep fighting it.
41:22It's all well and good, the police, doing our bit, but you're scratching the surface.
41:27And as soon as you stop one person who's at the bottom of the chain dealing drugs,
41:32someone has replaced them three hours later, just doing the same thing again.
41:36For every car that we stop, there's probably ten that manages to get through the net
41:42and goes on to deliver and makes a lot of money out of it.
41:46But if we just rolled over and gave up and said, well, we're fighting a losing battle,
41:50then what's the point? So we'll always try our best.
41:53And even if we take one car out, at least it's one car that's not then going on to sell drugs
41:59or ruin somebody else's life through crime.
