00:00the dick clark productions of gen z which as katie points out is it's it's interesting because gen z
00:07probably doesn't know who dick clark is but we millennials do but we all do and gen x yes i feel
00:12like a boomer when i talk about dick clark but um the point is uh you're it when it comes to these
00:19kind of events talk to us about um how gen z is responding because none of us knows them yeah look
00:27i think since covid there's been this attraction for live events right uh you know this seeking out
00:33and getting out of your house especially in this work from home error uh that hey i i'm stuck at
00:38home four or five days a week uh i have no happy hour anymore i have no lunch with co-workers i've
00:43no one to hang out with um and live events have become that outlet um and we've really gone in
00:49you know gone totally in on that since since the covid you know as eras ended um and seeing that
00:55from our peers as well i think gen z and millennials actually value live events more than material goods
01:01now being able to post something cool that i went to this on instagram or social media and say look
01:05what i did this weekend is worth more than you know than buying some some fancy good um we're seeing that
01:11throughout travel live events and experiences but that's really where the gen z millennial economy is
01:16sort of gravitating towards so how have you built this business i mean you've essentially you're
01:22essentially uh for the most famous people or brands throwing them massive parties right yeah
01:29so look you take let's use travis kelsey as an example travis kelsey has millions of fans around
01:34the world uh people want to come and interact and experience travis kelsey but he's not a comedian
01:40he's not a musician what does he do at this event right that's no one could really solve that before
01:45but we realize there's still this void of the millions of people that want to be up close and
01:49personal with travis kelsey so we sit down with someone like travis we go hey what would your
01:54live event look like and travis goes all right i want my favorite musicians there i want my favorite
01:58food vendors there i want all my big sponsors there uh i want to throw an event that i would
02:02want to be at and let people sort of enter the brain of travis kelsey for the day um and come enjoy
02:08that so our model is we go 50 50 we take all the risk right we're putting up all the money on our side
02:14we're coming up with these concepts and collaboration with them um and then we're producing it and at the end
02:18of it you go hey great it made two million bucks you get a million we get a million um and you get
02:22a really great partner because you're not guaranteeing them a fee right there they're they own equity in
02:27this shack owns equity kelsey owns equity gronk owns equity and that really makes a very powerful
02:32business partner well we have to talk about how you built this business because it was founded in 2019
02:37as i understand and uh the year after that there was a global pandemic and we all went inside for
02:42several years so how do you go from global pandemic no one's leaving their homes to you now have this
02:48platform in 2025 and all of these connections and relationships with these famous names that people
02:54want to come out and see yeah so the business started with shaquille o'neal who's actually an
02:58investor in the company still today uh and we came up with this concept of creating live events around
03:03you know these incredible celebrities and athletes and talent uh we're on our high horse in
03:08mart february 2020 coming out of the super bowl we had a great event with shaquille o'neal a great
03:13event with robert and kowski we think we're the biggest greatest thing in the world uh and then we
03:17all know what happened mid-march live event company not so great in covet for us so actually we watched
03:22a lot of our peers uh basically essentially go bankrupt during that period or lay everyone off or
03:28just terror you know terrible situation for a live event organizer we took the opposite approach we
03:33actually started doing live streams uh right so we're taking shaquille o'neal or damon john we
03:38started an event with him called black entrepreneurs day and they're digital right
03:41people can't go out they can't go to live events what do you do people are sitting at home on their
03:45computer on their phone so we start doing these live stream events and really what it actually
03:49changed the company in a really meaningful way people weren't going to pay to watch live streams
03:53the same way they would pay to buy a ticket for an event right so we had to get sponsors
03:58those are the only people that were going to pay for a live stream so we started becoming very
04:02brand first and going to the pepsis of the world and the googles and the anhyder bushes and you know
04:07just huge fortune 500 companies and saying hey look we're going to attract millions of people for this
04:12digital event and now those brands stick with us today uh and come to our live events as we
04:17our live events as we transitioned out of cove it
