00:00Typhoon Kalmaeki has left a trail of destruction across central Philippines with the island of

00:09Cebu and the city of Nazin in southern Laite among the hardest hit. The storm brought powerful

00:16winds and torrential rains resulted in widespread flooding and debris strewn in the streets. At least

00:2366 people have been confirmed dead and dramatic footage shows cars and shipping containers swept

00:29away by floodwaters. Rescue operations are on the way with soldiers deployed to assist residents

00:35stranded by rising waters. Local authorities and residents are now grappling with the aftermath

00:43as communities begin to arduous clean-up process. Inceivable survivors describe the devastations

00:50as totals with homes and infrastructure severely damaged. The full extent of the damage is still

00:57being assessed as emergency teams continue to respond.
