00:00Welcome back. Flooding in Central and South Central of Vietnam has caused extremely severe damage, leaving 102 people dead or missing, with thousands of homes flooded or destroyed, according to disaster management authorities.
00:17A report on Sunday from the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention indicated that there were 90 confirmed fatalities and 12 people still missing, a significant increase compared to the figures from 24 hours earlier.
00:31Vietnam is one of the countries most prone to flooding in the world, with almost half of its population living in high-risk areas. The situation is exacerbated by the consequences of global warming.
