00:00Responding at the scene of a fire in her constituency this morning was Princess Town MP Ina Ali,
00:05who praised the response time of the Monrepo fire station.
00:09She says given that the Princess Town fire station remains closed for close to a year and a half,
00:14Monrepo has to cover an even larger region.
00:17Yet, they were able to quickly render aid in Williamsville on Tuesday.
00:21Back in May of this year, Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander toured the condemned facility
00:26and later said a temporary relocation to a building in Torib Trace was on the cards.
00:31However, MP Ina Ali now says that this was only a suggestion and not a definitive decision.
00:40So none of that is finalized as yet.
00:42So as we get information, it will become available to the public.
00:46They no longer move into the Torib Trace facility, Minister Alexander spoke about.
00:50So it was just a suggestion.
00:51So we still have to do further works on the decision.
00:57It is in the works right now.
00:59So the budget has just passed and we will get a base within this fiscal year.
01:05Fire officers previously attached to Princess Town have been moved around to other stations.
01:11And an area that goes as far as Merak-Muruga has mostly been left unprotected.
01:16MP Ali says constituents can expect a solution within the new fiscal year.
01:23It will come within the financial year.
01:27The relocation or new facility to be given?
01:30As I said, so we're still trying to organize all the different aspects of it
01:36because, you know, we can't just put a fire station anywhere.
01:40So we're doing our assessments and we will update the public when we have final information.
01:46Thanks, Rosh.
