00:00I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but it was, I love jeans.
00:07All I wear are jeans. I'm literally in jeans and a t-shirt like every day of my life.
00:11The president tweeted about the jeans ad. I wondered what that was like. It was surreal.
00:16Yep, that was Sydney Sweeney addressing her American Eagle ad for the first time during
00:20a new interview with GQ. For those of you who might have forgotten, Sydney Sweeney's American
00:24Eagle ad campaign divided the internet because of its use of the word jeans. The whole tagline
00:29was Sydney Sweeney has good jeans and it was a double meaning of the word. And this is
00:33the first time Sydney Sweeney is really addressing this head on. And as I'm sure you could tell
00:37by that first clip, she's not letting this get to her. She made it clear during this interview
00:41that she knows who she is. She knows what she values. Sydney said that she was never tempted
00:45to put out any sort of formal statement regarding the ad because she doesn't believe she's here
00:49to tell anybody what to think. She also noted that during a lot of the backlash, she was
00:53filming Euphoria having 16 hour days. So it sounds like she was a little too busy to keep
00:57up with everyone's thoughts. At the end of the day, Sydney says this didn't affect her one way
01:01or the other. But now let us know your thoughts. And for more trending news, follow what's trending.
