Voters in NY, New Jersey and Virginia head to polls

New Yorkers go to the polls on election day on Nov 4 to cast their ballots for the city's next mayor in a race mainly between Democratic nominee and socialist Zohran Mamdani and former governor Andrew Cuomo.  The gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey are also expected to be rather tight with the Democratic candidates set to win as well. 00:52affordability, safety, making New York feel like home for so many people who've been living here for decades.

01:01So it's really important that we have a mayor that represents all types of New Yorkers.

01:05I'm a capitalist, so I think that is pretty simple.

01:09And safety.

01:10Oh yeah, oh, totally safety.

01:12Oh, we had to live here through COVID.

01:14So we know how important it is to have representation of police in the street.

01:18I think it's consequential this year.

01:21And I think that it's going to determine the course of the city for the next few years.

01:27What's of particular importance were the propositions about building new housing in New York.

01:33And I think that they will allow for greater participation on the part of developers.

01:39And we'll get more housing.
