00:00I want to start off just asking you quite simply about what AIQ do because
00:05you know for many of us it feels as though there are lots of different AI
00:09national champions in the UAE. So tell us about the work that AIQ does and what
00:16you're looking to achieve. Dear Juman, first of all thank you so much for
00:20having me it's an honor being here. AIQ since its inception in 2020 has started
00:25off with a clear vision to become the leader of AI into the energy sector.
00:30We started off with upstream and subsurface, went into downstream, health and
00:35safety, emission controls forecasting and so on. Fast forward this to 2025, first of
00:42all we became one of Abu Dhabi's fastest homegrown AI unicorns through the
00:46acquisition of a majority stake by Precite. We've developed over 14 products
00:52covering the entire energy value chain. His Excellency Dr. Sultan, our chairman,
00:57yesterday at the Adipax opening ceremony announced some of the clear results that
01:02we've achieved to date, helping develop over 200 AI use cases for ADNOC, helping
01:08increase efficiency, decrease downtime and truly we're on well on our path to
01:15become a leader of AI in the energy sector. Yeah, talk to me about one of your
01:19flagship products, energy AI. What exactly does it do? So energy AI came from our
01:27core mission of Applied Intelligence into day-to-day operations. What think of it
01:33as we're developing a PhD level set of agents or PhD level petrol physicists,
01:40reservoir engineers, field development engineers, geophysicists and so forth,
01:45that are able to augment a very large amount of data which is very technical.
01:51Outside of augmentation, we've also developed a RAG system covering over a
01:56million documents to date and this is still in production phase. We've built a
02:00very sophisticated sophistication model that is able to now talk to the data,
02:04understand it, process it, guide the field engineers, guide the seismic
02:10interpreters in order how to accelerate their workflows. One of the key
02:14achievements that we've done in a very early period is we took a seismic cube of
02:19over 12,000 square kilometers, which is a very large seismic cube and we were able to
02:24achieve preliminary interpretation in one hour at a 70% accuracy. Sorry for being
02:31technical, but this process in the normal world will take about two weeks, involve over
02:37ten engineers. So what we are doing is transforming operations of energy and
02:44augmenting the daily lives of the field engineers. And of course, this is an
02:49example of agentic AI. Is there going to be increased focus on agentic AI in coming
02:55years? Absolutely. To speed up a lot of these processes that you just highlighted?
03:00Absolutely. So we focus on digitalization, automation and agentic AI frameworks.
03:07Agentic AI frameworks or the development of these agents to help support everything from
03:12upstream to downstream to other energy verticals is a key focus for AIQ, not only within the
03:18Abu Dhabi ecosystem and not only with our key shareholder and partner ADNOC, but also exporting
03:23that knowledge and experience and those solutions to the global world. We are right
03:28now heavily actively participating in discussions with Kazakhstan's energy giants through our strategic
03:36partner and our shareholder Precite. We're utilizing Precite ecosystem in Southeast Asia with
03:42Malaysia, Indonesia. And of course, we want to make sure that we export that knowledge as
03:47an Abu Dhabi product. So it's a product that you could also partner with third parties?
03:52Yes, absolutely. So this product is being developed by G42 in partnership with ADNOC, Microsoft who
03:59are helping us develop a very sophisticated OSDU platform. So we're very honored to have strategic
04:05partners in this journey. Yeah. You talked about the efficacy of your models earlier. And I guess,
04:14you know, one of the questions people asked is just how reliable, how accurate are the models that
04:20are coming through and how robust is your testing system before you actually take this, you take your
04:28findings and apply it to real world applications, you know, in the context of ADNOC and its activities?
04:35So when you work with petabytes of data, we're first of all honored and truly, truly blessed that ADNOC have a
04:43very, very sophisticated data logs and data lakes. So the data is very clean and we are able to augment
04:50the value from it relatively quickly. We always go through a series of testings before any model
04:56is rolled out. We do it in secure environments provided by G42, which means sovereign cloud
05:02environments. And we use these agents as co-pilots to date. So that means they give suggestions,
05:10they advise, they're able to support, but they are not taking the action because we want to empower
05:17the field engineers, the people who are working day to day on the fields from the control room to the
05:23boardroom in order to make executive decisions in a much better way. Yeah. How important is it,
05:28do you think, for oil companies today to have intelligent energy systems and getting a competitive edge?
05:34It's absolutely important. As His Excellency Dr. Sultan referred to yesterday,
05:40Secretary Bergen said that power equals knowledge. And that is a very powerful statement. AIQ is front and
05:47center of that statement. We want to empower the energy providers of the globe in order to optimize their
05:56production, to increase their efficiencies, to enable them to power this global trend of the AI revolution.
06:03Yeah. Where does sustainability come in? Oh, sustainability is present across the entire value
06:08chain. First of all, coming from our own products, we have EmissionX, which is heavily deployed across
06:13Adnox operations, which is able to forecast, understand and predict in terms of emission controls.
06:19So that serves as an advisory system for the operators. But also from building our models,
06:26we go in and we fine tune existing models. So we don't create large models, we focus on smaller models.
06:31We utilize, of course, energy green sources because of the ecosystem that G42 has developed. So,
06:37all across, sustainability is a key focus for us. Okay. Finally, looking ahead, what are some of the
06:44projects you're working on now that you're excited about in the coming years? Oh, there are so many to
06:49speak of. Every day, to be honest, by the hour, where we get more and more excited about the power of AI,
06:54and what we're able to do with transformation, the energy industry. For us, I think what we've achieved
07:02to date, we're present in 20% of Adnox reservoirs, 15% of their producing wells. So we are very much
07:07present a part of the UAE energy ecosystem. Yeah. We want to now expand this as an Abu Dhabi export to the
07:14world. And I think that's the biggest excitement for me personally and for the executive team. We want to
07:20empower, again, from Central Asia to Southeast Asia to other countries in the world, the capabilities
07:27to harness their data, give them insights, and transform their operations.
