Malaysian rapper Namewee is expected to be arrested soon to assist investigations into the murder of a Taiwanese influencer at a hotel on Jalan Conlay.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said the movements of the victim and the individual last seen with her before her death on Oct 22 are being reviewed.

00:12murder of Taiwanese influencer Iris Xie at a hotel on Jalan Conley.
00:18Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus said the musician was the last
00:23person to be with the victim and is now considered an important individual in the investigation.
00:29He was later arrested for alleged possession and use of drugs, but was released after
00:34pleading not guilty to drug-related charges on October 24.
00:39Commissioner Fadil also said all aspects of the case are being examined, including the
00:44victim's movements since her arrival in Malaysia on October 20.
00:49He added that police are still awaiting the post-mortem and toxicology reports to determine
00:54the exact cause of death and urged those with information to come forward and assist the
01:00investigation.
01:01Xie was found lying in a bathtub at 1.40pm on October 22.
01:07The case was initially classified as sudden death but has been reclassified as murder following
01:12suspicious findings.
01:13Name We has denied using drugs and any involvement in Xie's death.
