00:00David Andrews, is the offensive line of this New England Patriots team
00:04doing a good enough job to protect their quarterback at this moment in time?
00:09No.
00:09I mean, you lead the league in sacks, right?
00:12And now it's back-to-back weeks of six sacks.
00:16Now, you know, when I was watching the game, hat off to Atlanta,
00:21what they did, Atlanta defensively, a lot of it was five-man rushes, right?
00:26Which, when you do that, now you're going to sacrifice some coverage.
00:30But Atlanta has a good enough coverage, you know, secondary,
00:34to really make it hard for the quarterback.
00:37Not all teams can rush five and feel comfortable back there
00:40leaving your secondary where it is.
00:43But everything works together.
00:47There wasn't a lot of sacks where it was like free runner.
00:50The only one really was the strip sack at the end of the half.
00:54They got beat on a TE on the right side.
00:57You know, that was the one where I was like, man, that was a free runner.
01:01The rest is kind of a byproduct of, you know, coverage sack.
01:05Yeah, I was wondering, like, is he coming off one, two, three reads
01:08where now all of a sudden, okay, it's tightening up and I got nowhere to go.
01:11And that creates with the five-man rush.
01:13Sure, back and in, yeah.
01:14Yeah, you know, because it doesn't give you any lanes to really step up in.
01:17They did a good job of kind of crushing the pocket and not letting him escape anywhere.
01:25Like, even that one they just showed on TV, like, he tried to step up.
01:28But when it's a five-man rush, it's a lot harder to get out of there.
01:32Right there, that one, too.
01:32He's patting it three times.
01:33Let's tell me we're not open, we're not open, we're not open.
01:35I was thinking that, too.
01:37Like, he just, you know, as offensive lineman, I would never look at the quarterback
01:41and be like, you got to throw the football.
01:43Like, three to four seconds.
01:44Like, yeah, you want him to, but, like, your job is, if the son of a gun holds it for eight seconds,
01:49you got to block.
01:50Exactly.
01:50And that guy, you're not, you're going to bitch about because he has the ability to move with his legs.
01:54If you got a pure pocket guy and he's standing like a, like a, like a soldier, like a statue back there.
01:58Yeah.
01:59Like, that's the one you get after.
02:00Hey, you got to, you got to throw it.
02:02Yeah, but the thing was, like, what I saw out of the rush, they just, they did a good job of crushing and containing him.
02:08And not.
02:09Mass him and then collapse him.
02:10Yeah, and not letting him escape out of the pocket or up the pocket.
02:13Right.
02:13Which, when you do a five-man rush, you've got good coverage or good rush lanes in there.
02:18Because he hit him with two runs early.
02:19Yeah.
02:20He did.
02:20He had a nice run early and he slid and got hit from behind.
02:23And, you know, when he was able to halftime and four-man rush, he was able to step up, move in the pocket, and make plays.
02:30So, but look, as an offensive lineman, you give up 12 sacks in two weeks.
02:36I don't care what the situation is.
02:38It's got to be better.
02:39And now he's the most sacked quarterback in the league.
02:42You saw what happened to Jaden Daniels last night.
02:44Like, personally, like, you're just holding on to thin air with, you know, with him.
02:49Like, you don't want to see that freak accident, freak injury happen to him.
02:53Like, you don't want to see that freak accident, freak injury happen to him.
