00:30We had a wonderful meeting with the Prime Minister and, of course, you're all aware that we have been extremely welcomed into Bokina Faso.
00:49But this would not happen.
00:51Our presence here in Bokina Faso as African diaspora would not have happened had it not been for your amazing embassy,
00:58the Bokina Faso embassy in Washington, D.C.
01:01I told the Prime Minister today that having spent time in Washington, D.C.,
01:07it is my humble opinion that the most functional embassy in Washington, D.C.
01:12is the Bokina Faso embassy.
01:15And nobody can challenge that.
01:16So it is through the Bokina Faso embassy in Washington, D.C., followed by, of course, through the foreign ministry that we are here today.
01:28We have been received in a way that no one even imagined.
01:32So for that, on behalf of the African diaspora, we want to thank our brothers and sisters in Bokina Faso for the resounding welcome that they have given us so far.
01:43In addition, we did get a brief history of who we are from the Prime Minister.
01:50He reminded us that we need to continue to fight the enemy, the enemy who has lied to us for centuries, the enemy who has misrepresented Africa.
02:01But more importantly, since we're here, the misrepresentation of Bokina Faso, the image that has been painted of Bokina Faso,
02:08we all have a responsibility to dispel those lies.
02:14And we have a responsibility as Africans to tell the world the truth about Bokina Faso.
02:20We are here as testimony to that.
02:24When those people who are here today, I call them the renegades.
02:28The renegades, in spite of the negativity coming out of the world, they said,
02:33no, Bokina Faso is home.
02:35We are going home.
02:36We don't tell Chinese not to go to China.
02:39We don't tell the Indians not to go to India.
02:41We don't tell the Europeans not to go to Europe.
02:45Africans must come home.
02:47They must come home to Africa.
02:49And for us, we are blessed that we have a president who has stood up,
02:54a president who represents everything we have ever wanted in an African man,
02:59a president who has stood up and said, Africa belongs to the Africans.
03:03And we have an example of how Africa must readjust and reshape our leadership.
03:12So in Bokina Faso, we have found a home.
03:14The president is calling for the conclusion, for the correction of the wrong of over 400 years.
03:22The children of Africa are welcome here in Bokina Faso, particularly descendants of the formerly enslaved.
03:31President Traor is saying the wrongs of yesteryear must be corrected, beginning in Bokina Faso.
03:39I want you all to know that what is happening in Bokina Faso is something that should have happened a long time ago.
03:46It really is sad when you think about it, that over 400 years of the children of Africa being taken out of Africa as slaves,
03:54not a single African country has put out a clarion call to say,
03:59you can come home to Bokina Faso.
04:02You can come home to any other African country.
04:04It is Bokina Faso that is making that clarion call to say, descendants of the formerly enslaved,
04:13you must come home to Bokina Faso.
04:16African diaspora, the right thing is for you to come home to Bokina Faso.
04:21And Bokina Faso is standing up and saying, let's right this wrong.
04:26And so we are here to celebrate that call, that clarion call.
04:31We are answering that clarion call from President Captain Ibrahim Traor.
04:37And that is why we are here today.
04:39So the Prime Minister reminded us of our journey, reminded us of the forces out there that are trying to continue to divide us,
04:47and that if we don't stay away Kalaten-oriented, these forces will win.
04:52So the forces of evil that have kept Africans and Africans in the diaspora from coming together,
04:59we must always be aware of them and be determined to defeat them by any means necessary.
05:07So yes, we did get a history lesson, brief as it was, but very much to the point.
05:14So the meeting with the Prime Minister was amazing, and we were received very warmly.
05:21And of course, Our Excellency, our Ambassador to Washington, as usual, is always there, supportive.
05:30He's with us.
05:31And of course, the Permanent Secretary from the Foreign Ministry.
05:35So we just had a very wonderful time, and we really, truly appreciate him taking the time to meet with the ADDI leadership.
