01:13These actions, guided by organized popular power, strengthen popular organizations through
01:18national popular consultations that have been taking place for over a year throughout
01:22the country.
01:23This is part of the deepening of participatory and protagonist democracy in response to the
01:28concrete action agenda and the map of dreams created by the country's communities in order
01:34to prioritize their projects and submit them.
01:37From the early hours of the morning, citizens' assemblies in state such as Miranda, Laguaira,
01:42Cogedes, and Tachira agreed on the local needs with a continued advanced community development.
01:55And the Russian government expressed this strategic solidarity with Venezuela while condemning the
01:59military pressure of the United States in the Caribbean.
02:02Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela,
02:07given the escalation of threats and military pressure from the United States government.
02:11The senior official's statements came when he was asked about a report revealing how Venezuelan
02:16President Nicolas Maduro had asked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to supply defensive
02:21military equipment to deter possible foreign aggression.
02:25Moscow's support for multilateralism and self-determination is in contrast to Washington's interventionism
02:30and warmongering which threaten the peace and stability of Latin America.
02:35And in Venezuela on Sunday was the second day of the 16th Book Fair in Caracas held on the slogan,
02:59Awaken Your Mind.
03:00The event pays tribute to writer Juan Antonio Calzadilla Reaza, recognizing his contribution
03:05to Venezuelan literature.
03:07This Sunday, Communications Minister Freddy Ñañez highlighted the importance of fostering the
03:12reading habit and strengthening the country's cultural identity.

03:22And speaking of cultural events, over 600 youngsters and adults took part in the traditional educational
03:32gathering of La Llora dance in the Bull Square La Victoria New Circus in Aragua State.
03:39At the practical seminar, Governor Juana Sánchez highlighted the importance of traditional culture
03:45for the development of Aragua families.
03:47La Llora is a typical and traditional dance native to the municipality of José Félix Rivas,
03:53which has become a cultural and folkloric reference inside and outside the state of Aragua.
03:58And for its part, the Simone Bolívar Expo, From Child to Liberator, attracted over a million visitors.
04:08The exhibition is a revolutionary technological initiative dedicated to education using digital tools
04:14such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and 4D experiences to tell the story
04:19of Simone Bolívar's life to the country's youngest citizens.
04:22The event that has inspired children and young people with the ideals of the liberator Simone Bolívar
04:27continues its journey throughout the national territory.
04:30On her social media, Vice President Delce Rodríguez explained that the experience evokes the independence
04:36that the people of Venezuela bravely defend, guaranteeing a peaceful future for everyone.

05:22In Granma province, 135 people have been extracted from Guamo to Las Tunas as part of a province-wide evacuation.
05:31Nine workers, firefighters and transport workers arrived in the east of the country to perform critical maintenance
05:37and recovery work on electricity and water services after Hurricane Melissa passed through.
05:42Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health and the Communist Party of Cuba are working together to respond to the health crisis
05:47in affected areas, focusing on vulnerable communities and disease control.
05:51The priority is to assist people with chronic conditions, pregnant women, children and the elderly,
05:56as well as to restore basic health services.
06:00And Hurricane Melissa, which made landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 storm left devastation in its wake
06:09and at least 50 people dead in the Caribbean.
06:12In Jamaica alone, the number of confirmed fatalities rose to 19.
06:16However, according to officials, this figure could increase.
06:19The storm also caused widespread destruction in Haiti, where at least 31 people lost their lives,
06:24while authorities continued their response and assistance efforts to ensure the safety of those affected.
06:29The Caribbean region now faces the arduous and prolonged task of recovery.
06:34And following devastating Hurricane Melissa, El Salvador has offered support to Jamaica
06:43by sending medical and rescue teams and supplies to assist the victims.
06:47The plane, carrying the aid, departed from San Oscar Romero International Airport
06:52with emergency equipment needed to deal with landslides, floods and rescue in confined spaces,
06:59as well as food and medical supplies.
07:01The Salvador Faro Department chief said the multidisciplinary contingent is made of over 300 people
07:07trained in emergency response.
07:16And Barcelona is reporting decreased deforestation after a decade fighting climate change.
07:21Climate authorities said the news not only represents a victory for the environment,
07:24but that it also highlights the effectiveness of renewed public policies
07:28and the role of society in those initiatives.
07:31They also said that legal deforestation in the Amazon has decreased by 22.3% compared to 2024.
07:39However, for now, climate threats persist, which require constant vigilance
07:43and a long-term commitment from all sectors of society.
07:45Meanwhile, in China, thick fog covered much of the north and east of the country, causing traffic disruptions
07:59and the temporary closure of several highways in at least three provinces.
08:02The thick fog occurred Friday midnight through Saturday morning, forcing authorities to implement safety measures
08:08such as traffic regulation, sickness and vehicle guidance at major intersections.
08:14Toll stations were supplied with emergency equipment, water, food and first aid kits to provide assistance to drivers.
08:20With sunrise, visibility gradually improved and the alert was lifted by midday.

08:50Spokesperson of the Afghan Ministry of Health, Sharafat Zaman, stated that medical teams have already been deployed to the earthquake site
08:57and authorities have ordered all nearby hospitals to prepare to take better care for the injured.

09:07which makes it prone to earthquakes, with at least 12 of a magnitude greater than 7 since 1900.
09:19And in other news, the United States Treasury Secretary Scott Besant acknowledged this Sunday
09:23that certain sectors of the U.S. economy could enter a recession.
09:27Besant stated that the real estate market, in particular whose contraction will always have a more severe impact on lower-income citizens,
09:35the official attributed the current problems to the central bank's monetary policies, stating that the Federal Reserve has caused many distribution problems with its policies,
09:45removing the Treasury Department from possible responsibility for the recession.
09:49Besant noted that a reduction in the key rate by the Federal Reserve could ease the pressure on the real estate market.
09:55The question is whether this reduction would benefit regular people, property owners or real estate businesses.
10:01And in Mexico, authorities in the state of Sonora determined that a transformer explosion was the cause of the fire that killed 23 people.
10:15The information was released by the Attorney General of Sonora, Gustavo Salas, who specified that the number of injured people rose to 15.
10:23He also stated that they are inspecting the entire facility as they have converters to transform solar energy into electricity.
