00:00My first original story-driven series, Breaking the Frame, ended in May, and since then y'all
00:14have been waiting for a brand new series to come.
00:17So say hello to TJ!
00:19My next series will be called Treasure Hunters, and it is still in early development, but
00:29still kind of planning some things, but this is the main character, TJ.
00:34The name of the series makes it sound like it's going to be a pirate thing, Treasure
00:36Hunters, but I promise you, it has nothing to do with pirates.
00:43What started out as a series I was at first hopeful for and excited to make has now become
00:47a burden and heavy weight on my shoulders.
00:50Treasure Hunters was a series about three teenage best friends dealing with supernatural activity
00:54after finding a strange object in the backyard.
00:57Along with this, the characters deal with relatable personal issues, like growing up, having
01:00trouble fitting in, mental health, etc.
01:02It was leaning to be more of an adventure-drama series and less of a comedy, which is quite
01:07different than my usual content as my usual niche's comedy.
01:11However, because of how new and out of place the concept of this series was compared to
01:15the rest of my channel, it did not perform well.
01:17It had very mixed reactions, positive and negative, some in between.
01:21The numbers for episode 1 were just a little below decent, followed by episode 2, which performed
01:25even worse than the first.
01:27One of the factors I believe led to the poor analytical performance of the series was the
01:31lack of Nintendo characters or existing IP.
01:34Treasure Hunters includes all Beanie Boos, Beanie Babies plushies, but the problem is,
01:39I'm mostly known for Mario plush videos.
01:42I can see how a series using all original characters instead of the ones my audience and the majority
01:47of people on Earth are familiar with would lead to the unfortunate failure of a show which
01:51I thought had potential.
01:53People want characters they are already familiar with.
01:55I understand.
01:56The analytics made it loud and clear.
01:58I want to make the content you want to see.
02:01The content you subscribe for.
02:03With that being said, I'm canceling Treasure Hunters.
02:06It'll help with my mental health, getting back into my usual stuff, which I admit I've
02:09missed a lot.
02:11The series had potential, but it's very clear its future wasn't going to last long, so
02:14I'm pulling the plug before it gets worse.
02:16For those who watched the two episodes, thank you.
02:19Even if you didn't like them, thanks for giving the series a chance.
02:22If you didn't watch it, that's okay.
02:24Even though I'm disappointed Treasure Hunters didn't do well, it's not a big deal.
02:28Like most shows, they release a season or sometimes even just a few episodes to see
02:33how it goes, and if it doesn't do well, they don't keep going with the show.
02:37I tested the waters, I experimented with it, but unfortunately it didn't go as I hoped.
02:42If I kept going with episodes of Treasure Hunters, it would have eventually caught up
02:46and affected my channel analytics overall in a negative way.
02:50But now that I have Treasure Hunters off my hands, I can put full focus into more types
02:54of videos.
02:55The JJPE movies and minis will be returning, I'll be doing more commentary videos, more
02:59review videos, more plush review videos.
03:02I definitely don't see any more series in the future that include original characters,
03:06because clearly that didn't work out with this experiment.
03:08Which is okay, because I love Mario, I love using the Mario plushies for my videos.
03:12I just thought it'd be interesting to try and branch out a little bit, and it didn't
03:16work, but that's okay.
03:18We're just gonna get right back on track and continue.
03:20More videos coming soon with the characters that you and I both love, and treasure hunters
03:25to life.
03:38And, so, so, so, so, so.
