00:00This playground in the town of Keith on the Dukes Highway has had a massive upgrade, but
00:07one long-standing feature is staying put.
00:09The monorail was installed in 1980, back when they were a common feature in playgrounds
00:14around Australia.
00:15Now, only a few remain, mostly because of safety concerns.
00:18At the end of the day, nobody wants to see anything dangerous or harmful.
00:23It comes with risk, but like anything, manage it, use it properly.
00:29It's an amazing attraction, all the families, children, it goes all day long.
00:33The town of Keith is on the Dukes Highway about a third of the way from Adelaide, on the way
00:37to Melbourne.
00:38It's hoped the All Ability Nature Play experience will be enjoyed by the 1100 locals, along with
00:42tourists who might otherwise stop in other towns along the road.
00:46It has been very important, it has brought a lot of people to the area, and it's always
00:52been a fun place to stop for children, but it's definitely increased in the last few
01:00weeks since it's been open.
01:01The playground, with its restored monorail, has been a hit so far with kids.
01:05I think it's really cool.
01:06It's a lot bigger and better.
01:11Really good.
01:12Really good.
01:13Organisers say the community has come together to support the project.
01:17The support's been wonderful, and I think that's how you know that you're on something
01:21good from the get-go, because it was never a push, people always came to us.
01:25The playground is just down the road from Keith's other main attraction, the Land Rover, on
01:30a pole.
