00:00I'm standing in downtown Los Angeles where one resilient Texas native dedicates her life to
00:14giving back to those in need rain or shine. We want the unhoused to feel seen. We want them to
00:19feel recognized. We want them to feel like they have hope. We just want them to feel like family.
00:24I look up to her. She's an inspiration. Haley has opened her heart to the unhoused community and now we want to give some of that same love back to her. You didn't tell me it was pink. She's almost here. Join me as we celebrate Haley for her devotion to the unhoused community. Oh my gosh. My name is Lacey Chabert and I'm on a mission to find unsung heroes who dedicate their lives to serving their communities.
00:54Everyday champions whose impact reaches far beyond the work they do. It's their turn for the spotlight. What is going on? With the help of family, friends, and our superstar planners. I am so excited about this celebration. It's going to be great. We have only three days to create epic surprise parties to honor our dedicated heroes.
01:14Now let's get ready to celebrate.
01:24Now let's get ready to celebrate.
01:26Hi, Lacey. My name is Daniel. Daniel, so nice to meet you. Hi, Naima. How are you? I'm meeting up with Naima Kazi, the woman who nominated Haley. And while I'm here, I also want to volunteer to serve the unhoused community so I can get more insight into Haley and her amazing organization.
01:55I'm so excited to be here to volunteer and help you guys out and see what you do today.
01:59Thank you so much. So what we're doing right now is we're actually just pre-making some bags.
02:03Okay. So we're going to put like two lotions, two shampoos, two conditioners.
02:08My name is Naima Kazi and I am nominating my friend and colleague, Haley, who is the CEO and founder of Love My Neighbor Foundation.
02:16We serve the homeless, we feed them, we clothe them, and we empower them.
02:26My name is Haley. I am the CEO and founder of Love My Neighbor Foundation.
02:30You live to feel the love that won't ever change.
02:36I started Love My Neighbor Foundation 10 years ago because I want them to feel like we're here for them.
02:43One time I heard somebody say, yeah, you know, the food is good, but just to see you here every single week,
02:49just to see you smile every single week, to bring a smile to my face, you know, it makes a difference.
02:56Haley's a hero because 10 years ago she was homeless at the time and she's sitting in her car and she's looking
03:08and she's like seeing all these people were in a similar situation to herself.
03:11She's kind of like, what can I do? So she just went to the store, whatever money she had,
03:17and she set up a table and started serving them. That was the birth of Love My Neighbor Foundation.
03:21I've been homeless not once but twice and just, I didn't want people to feel abandoned.
03:29Before I was homeless, I was living in Los Angeles, California.
03:32I met a guy, we started dating, and then we broke up, so I gave him the place.
03:37So a family member asked me to move in with them in Las Vegas, and it worked for like a month or so,
03:42and then I started living in my car.
03:45I was unhoused on and off for a little bit over a year. Nobody really knew.
03:54My family didn't know. My friends didn't know. They didn't know until like years later.
04:00I just felt like a failure. You know, I put myself in that situation.
04:06I felt like I needed to get myself out of that situation.
04:09We're not going to fill them up for them. We're going to allow them to choose.
04:12Why do you not put the same items in every bag?
04:15It would seem like, oh, it's easier to go ahead and do that.
04:17But we like to empower them to make decisions.
04:19And we don't want to waste anything that someone doesn't want.
04:22Sure.
04:23And we also get to learn about their needs.
04:25It's just wonderful that you let people decide.
04:27Yeah.
04:28Hi, guys.
04:29Hi, good morning.
04:30Want an orange?
04:31Yes.
04:32Yes.
04:33You guys want some dry snacks?
04:35Sure.
04:36How about a sandwich?
04:37Yeah.
04:38It's peanut butter jelly?
04:39Yes, please.
04:40Yes.
04:41Comfy leggings.
04:42I'm a big fan of leggings, too.
04:43Let's see what we got here, right? The coziest. Always.
04:46We've got some sweats.
04:48Is this something you would wear?
04:50Yeah.
04:51Okay, there you go.
04:52Perfect. Thank you so much.
04:54I am proud of the work that Love My Neighbor Foundation has done.
04:59But it could take a toll on you emotionally just to see a lot of these people, you know,
05:06even hearing about vets.
05:07You know, my dad's a vet, you know?
05:09And it's just like, I don't understand why you're homeless.
05:16It's like, no, you fought for this country, and I'll have to serve you this food.
05:21You know, it's very hard.
05:27I'm glad that we're doing something for them, you know?
05:30You want a jacket or something?
05:31Yeah, a jacket.
05:32We have these in small.
05:34Jogging pants.
05:35Yes, jogging pants.
05:36Yeah, perfect.
05:38Of course.
05:39Have a wonderful day.
05:40Being of service is serving others, but what it does for you and your own soul,
05:44like, you don't know until you're out there, like, giving back.
05:47You feel like you're having a bad day, go be of service to someone,
05:50and it changes your whole perspective.
05:52Thank you so much for being here and helping out.
05:54No, are you kidding?
05:55We're so excited to honor Haley.
05:56Yeah.
05:57I'm going to brainstorm ways that we can help bring some more awareness.
06:00This is perfect.
06:01So 10 years, so it's like such a beautiful thing.
06:0310 years?
06:04That's such a milestone.
06:05Yeah, and I'm excited that Haley will get the opportunity to be honored.
06:08She deserves it.
06:09Yeah, we definitely need to talk about the celebration and the party,
06:12theme ideas and foods and favorites and colors.
06:15She loves pink.
06:16Pink?
06:17Oh, pink.
06:18There you go.
06:19She loves flowers.
06:20Okay.
06:21She's from Texas.
06:22Okay, I'm from Mississippi.
06:23A lot of my family lives in Texas.
06:24Okay.
06:25So maybe there's a southern flair to it in a way?
06:28Ooh, you know what?
06:30Haley just likes a good party.
06:32Right.
06:33If she has a reason to kick up the heels, she's all for it.
06:35So maybe there's a little dancing.
06:36Yeah.
06:37I love music, and I love dancing.
06:41We have music downtown, and people love it.
06:44When people start dancing, they move a little bit.
06:47I see them a little move, just a little bit.
06:49They start dancing, and then the other people start dancing.
06:52It just puts people in a good mood when you're dancing.
06:56A little dressed up, a little glam.
06:58Yeah.
06:59She's from Texas.
07:00I loved talking to Naima, Sissy, and Daniel.
07:03And I really got a better idea of who Haley is and what she likes.
07:07So I'm excited to share these ideas with Lisa and Marissa
07:10and see what we can put together to celebrate Haley.
07:17Hey.
07:18Morning, Lacey.
07:19Hi.
07:20How you doing?
07:21Good to see you.
07:22Well, I guess it's not really morning, is it?
07:24Yeah.
07:25No.
07:26It just feels like morning.
07:27I've already had a very eventful day.
07:29Tell us everything.
07:30So Haley, our hero from Love My Neighbor,
07:32who we're honoring, I had the chance to go and volunteer
07:35with Naima and Sissy and Daniel.
07:37They're serving the unhoused community this morning,
07:39and they had to set up.
07:40And it was just incredible to be there and see what they do.
07:43What does the whole setup look like?
07:45How does it work?
07:46There's food, toiletries.
07:48There was clothing.
07:49And she began Love My Neighbor by herself.
07:52Wow.
07:53Her life is an incredible story
07:54because she's actually overcome homelessness not once but twice.
07:56Oh, wow.
07:57The celebration, I just want it to be something
07:59that reflects her personality.
08:01She's from Texas.
08:02She lived in Vegas a while,
08:04so I'm hoping there's something we can do
08:05to honor her Texas roots.
08:06Ooh, okay.
08:07Like, when I think of Vegas,
08:08I think of, like, the bright lights.
08:10Right.
08:11Neon lights.
08:12Neon signs.
08:13Okay, so now I'm thinking of, like,
08:14a neon Western booth, right?
08:16I like it.
08:17That's cute.
08:18But what do we do with it?
08:19What does she like to do?
08:20What are, like, some things that she's...
08:21Well, she loves to dance.
08:22Okay.
08:23And I was told her favorite color is pink,
08:25and she loves getting dressed up and being very girly
08:27and celebrating.
08:28A dance party.
08:29But she doesn't take the time
08:30to celebrate herself enough.
08:31Can we have a dance party?
08:32Yeah.
08:33Why not?
08:34We could definitely have it.
08:35Like a disco?
08:36Like a disco dance?
08:37I guess that's so random.
08:38Why disco?
08:39I mean, disco Vegas.
08:40Or maybe something more, like, what's, like, Texas?
08:42Like...
08:43Line dancing, you guys.
08:44Yes.
08:45I mean, would she do it, though?
08:46Did she, like...
08:47I mean, probably.
08:48It's like a Western glam party.
08:50Let's do it.
08:51Okay, so now we need a place.
08:53I think if it were downtown, I mean,
08:55that's the communities that they serve most.
08:57Yeah.
08:58A lot of their volunteers,
08:59it would be very central for everyone.
09:00Okay, thank Lisa.
09:01Downtown.
09:02Maybe wood floors.
09:03Not a ballroom.
09:04Not stuffy.
09:05Another thing I wanted to mention, too.
09:07Her dad, who has passed, but her dad was a vet.
09:10Oh.
09:11And I don't know if there's a way that we can honor him.
09:15They had a really, really close relationship
09:17from what I've learned.
09:18And I want to make sure that we feel like
09:19he's also a part of our day.
09:20You know the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall
09:22that we've been talking about,
09:23wanting to go see?
09:24Yes.
09:25That could be an amazing option.
09:26Yeah, I think it's a building where they do...
09:27they have different services for veterans.
09:28Okay.
09:29It has a lot of history to it.
09:31It's a beautiful historical building.
09:32Okay.
09:33All right, well, should we go see
09:34the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall?
09:35Yeah.
09:36Yeah, let's go.
09:37Great.
09:38All right, go team.
09:41We're off to see a famous Los Angeles landmark.
09:44It's a military memorial built in the early 20th century
09:47and renamed in 2004 to honor comedy and USO legend,
09:51Bob Hope.
09:52Oh, wow.
09:53So pretty.
09:54So pretty.
09:55Look at this.
09:56Look at that ceiling.
09:57How are you ladies?
09:58Hi.
09:59Hi, I'm Lisa.
10:00I'm Justin.
10:01Nice to meet you.
10:02Nice to meet you.
10:03Welcome.
10:04This is Bob Hope Patriotic Hall.
10:05It was built in 1925 for veterans,
10:07as well as a resource for veterans
10:09for them to kind of navigate their careers
10:12after the military.
10:13Well, our hero that we're honoring,
10:15her dad was a vet.
10:16So this is something that just feels so fitting.
10:18Oh, wow.
10:19We appreciate his service.
10:20Yes, we do.
10:21And we appreciate you here
10:22doing what you're doing as well.
10:23And is it a possibility to use this entrance hall
10:26as, you know, an event space?
10:28Yeah.
10:29Because it's so beautiful and spacious.
10:30Absolutely.
10:31Why don't you all take a look around there?
10:32The elevator's right there
10:33and check out all the floors
10:34and let me know what you think.
10:35Thank you so much.
10:36Yeah, you're welcome.
10:37Let's explore.
10:39Were you expecting a basketball gym here?
10:41No, but this is kind of fun.
10:43It's amazing.
10:44Do you see the seats?
10:45Wow.
10:46It's awesome.
10:47There's a humming sound that's really loud.
10:49Yeah.
10:50It's really bad for music.
10:51Echoing.
10:52Echoing.
10:53It's going to be hard to cover the basketball hoops,
10:55right?
10:56Yeah.
10:57It's going to be a sports theme, maybe?
10:58Oh, yeah.
10:59Amazing.
11:00Yes.
11:01Mental note to use this for a sports-themed party.
11:02Yeah, but this is not going to work
11:03for a Western theme.
11:04Thanks.
11:05Yeah.
11:06Oh, that was so much closer though, Macy.
11:09I felt like that was really close.
11:10So much closer.
11:11Wow.
11:12Ooh.
11:13This room is so pretty.
11:15This is beautiful.
11:16Love the ceilings.
11:17The nice wood floor, which we love.
11:20I love the shape of this room, too.
11:22It's nice and long, lots of space.
11:23Yeah.
11:24Yeah.
11:25There's a lot of art on the walls.
11:26We can always just pipe and base.
11:27Okay.
11:28What about food?
11:29I feel like we need barbecue, right?
11:31Texas, delicious barbecue.
11:33A flexible caterer who's got the time.
11:35Yeah.
11:36Bring it up here, up the elevator.
11:37Yeah.
11:38This is a great room, but there are some concerns that I have.
11:41Mainly, it's on the eighth floor.
11:43We can use their elevator, but it's going to take time to load things into the elevator,
11:48wait for it to come up and down, make sure that everything even fits in the elevator.
11:51But the space is definitely worth it.
11:53It's more private than the lobby.
11:55Definitely.
11:56I mean, I love a lobby because it's so grand and so beautiful, but it probably won't be
12:01very private.
12:02And this is a space we can work our party magic in.
12:04I think this room has a lot to offer.
12:05I think this is a great choice.
12:06Okay.
12:07I love it.
12:08Okay, good.
12:09Done.
12:10Okay.
12:11So we found a venue, but there is still so much to do.
12:13Hailey does so much for everyone around her.
12:16I just want to make sure we're giving back to her the same love and care she does for
12:20others.
12:21We're trying to make these boot centerpieces.
12:24She's going to love them.
12:26You never know whose heart we can touch.
12:29And now I may have figured out my hero moment.
12:32You guys know the elevator is being serviced?
12:34No.
12:35The elevator is being serviced, so I have been going from the lobby to the eighth floor
12:39with decorations.
12:40She's almost here.
12:41Please gather around.
12:50We decided on barbecue for the party.
12:52So I'm headed to Maple Block to meet with Hailey's friend Adrian.
12:55We're going to talk about the menu and then I'll have a chance to learn a little bit
12:58more about our hero.
12:59Adrian.
13:00Hi.
13:01How are you?
13:02Good.
13:03So nice to see you again.
13:04Me too.
13:05How long have you known Hailey?
13:07I've actually known Hailey for nine years.
13:09Really?
13:10Yes.
13:11And is that when you became involved with Love My Neighbor?
13:12Exactly.
13:13I'm just so touched by everything that she's doing.
13:15Listen, she is small but mighty.
13:18That's what everyone keeps saying.
13:20She is small and mighty.
13:21When I was homeless, I felt abandoned.
13:23Even though a lot of my family members didn't know or my friends didn't know my situation,
13:29I felt abandoned and it wasn't a good feeling.
13:33Working with other homeless people, you know, I don't want them to feel that way.
13:37I want them to feel like, hey, every week there's Love My Neighbor Foundation.
13:42Rain shines.
13:43They're going to be there.
13:44Welcome to Love My Neighbor every week.
13:46People, they encourage me and lift me up while I'm out here.
13:49Hi.
13:50Hi.
13:51How's it going?
13:52Good, I'm Tracy.
13:53Rudy, nice to meet you.
13:54Hi, I'm Adrian.
13:55Rudy, nice to meet you.
13:56Hello.
13:57We're excited.
13:58I heard it is for a great cause too.
13:59Yes.
14:00Yes, it is.
14:01We are throwing her a Western-themed party, so we thought we need some delicious barbecue.
14:02I'm going to the right spot.
14:03I can tell I have.
14:04I'm going to the right spot.
14:05The smell in here is amazing.
14:06Chef Rudy let us taste the menu for the party.
14:09Brisket, ranch beans, mac and cheese.
14:12He even let us help prepare the brisket.
14:14It's going to be fabulous.
14:16That's the brisket you bring tomorrow?
14:17Yeah.
14:18No pressure.
14:19No pressure.
14:20If it's good brisket, I'll take credit.
14:21If it's not the best, you know, we're training you guys on how to do it.
14:24We'll let them know that.
14:25Perfect.
14:26I love that.
14:33The barbecue was absolutely delicious.
14:35And this whole Western theme is just so much fun.
14:38I got a call from Marissa and Lisa that they have hired a line dancing instructor.
14:42This is great news.
14:44This is Freddie.
14:45Hello.
14:46Hi.
14:47What's happening here?
14:48This looks really fun.
14:49It's our DIY.
14:50We're going to put out all these fun, like, glam finishes.
14:53And then let the guests kind of go to town, making their hats as glam and pretty as they
15:00want.
15:01Rhinestones and sequins.
15:02Oh, I love this.
15:03It's so fun.
15:04We need to come up with something else for the guests to do.
15:06We've got the line dancing moment and we've got our craft station.
15:09Okay.
15:10You guys are going to think this is crazy.
15:12But what if we brought in a mechanical bull, right?
15:15I don't think that's crazy.
15:16I think that's amazing.
15:17We have to make it happen.
15:18Is it dangerous?
15:19I mean, is it like padded or something?
15:21Yeah.
15:22They're inflatable so you don't fall on the hard ground.
15:24Okay.
15:25All right.
15:26I'm in.
15:27It's really fun.
15:28I think Haley's going to love it.
15:30What are we thinking for the floor plan, guys?
15:32We've decided to use the room on the eighth floor of the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall.
15:36The room is amazing.
15:37The only issue is that we have to use the elevator to load everything up to the eighth floor.
15:42But we're going for it.
15:43Mechanical bull in all.
15:44Okay.
15:45So most important on my to-do list right now is I'm going to work on my hero moment,
15:48hoping to find a way to help with fundraising.
15:50And then I want to find a way that's really special to honor her dad.
15:54Yes.
15:55We need to talk about centerpieces.
15:56We do.
15:57We had an idea, something boot related because, you know, to tie into the Western theme,
16:02we found these ceramic vases that looked like boots.
16:04So we were going to paint them in our party colors and maybe put some flowers in there.
16:08Do you need help with that?
16:09I could send over one of Haley's friends.
16:11I could send Sissy over.
16:12That'd be great.
16:13Haley has impacted my life in so many ways.
16:16She has such a big heart and she's a great leader.
16:21She has inspired me as well.
16:24The more hands, the better.
16:25Great.
16:26And I'll head downtown and I'm going to talk to a friend of Haley's who helps her store all of her donations.
16:31You look very cute.
16:32I love this.
16:34I'll be back.
16:35Bye.
16:36She's so cute.
16:37I know.
16:44I'm heading downtown to meet Haley's friend, George.
16:47Not only is he an amazing florist, he also lets Haley store her supplies in his warehouse.
16:53He's a great friend.
16:54Hi, George.
16:55Hi.
16:56Hey, I'm Lacey.
16:57Hi.
16:58Pleasure to meet you.
16:59Of course.
17:00Naima told me about all that you do and I'm so excited to learn more about how you help out with Haley.
17:07I am a floral designer.
17:08We're located literally steps away from the flower market right around the corner happens to be, you know, where Haley comes and shows up every Thursday.
17:20Wow.
17:21How did you guys first meet?
17:22I go down to the flower district every morning.
17:24I hand select and pick out the blooms either for the day, for the week.
17:28And I was walking and I see little Haley pulling stuff out of a van.
17:34And I'm just like, what are you doing?
17:36She's like, oh, I'm setting up.
17:37And I was like, where are you storing all your stuff?
17:40She goes, why?
17:41Load it up.
17:42And she was at the time paying for a little storage.
17:44So then I looked at her and I said, come to my studio.
17:46So we came and I said, how about we start putting your stuff here?
17:49And like, she literally started crying.
17:50And then she's like, I'll pay you.
17:51I'll pay you.
17:52And I was like, look, this is going to help you.
17:54And if this is going to be a big relief for you, I said, don't worry about it.
17:58Oh, wow.
17:59We store her tables, her tents, the crates, and then inside, you know, if you want to come in, I'll show you.
18:05I'd love to.
18:06Thank you so much.
18:07Of course.
18:08After you.
18:10I'll show you.
18:13Oh my gosh.
18:14This is huge.
18:15Yeah.
18:16Every Thursday when her team comes over, they just grab what they need.
18:20Every week she shows up.
18:21Every Thursday she's here, rain or shine.
18:24And if I could say that's truly what she's taught me, like show up.
18:27Being there every Thursday, it's great.
18:29Sometimes it gets to you emotionally.
18:31I know when I first started, I just wanted to help everybody out.
18:35And there was one lady that I saw.
18:37She was like in her early twenties and, and to see her homeless and scared and didn't know what to do.
18:44And just to see that it's, it's sad.
18:47It's just like, you want to do more.
18:49You don't have all the resources to help everybody.
18:51You can only do what you can do.
18:53Your designs are so beautiful and we're throwing her this huge celebration.
18:58We have incredible party planners, Lisa and Marissa.
19:00And I know they have some thoughts and they were working on maybe the basis that the flowers would sit in.
19:05Would you be interested in designing the centerpieces?
19:09Of course.
19:10Of course.
19:11And you want to know something crazy?
19:12Yes.
19:13Lisa and Marissa.
19:14I work with them all the time.
19:15Do you really?
19:16It feels like all the worlds are colliding in just the right way.
19:18The fact that George has worked with Lisa and Marissa just makes me feel like I'm in the right place.
19:22And I can't wait to see what he does with the flowers.
19:25Thank you so much.
19:26Of course.
19:27Thank you so very much for being here.
19:28And I will be in touch.
19:30Of course.
19:31With the celebration, the flowers.
19:32Anything you guys need.
19:33That's going to be so incredibly meaningful.
19:34Anything you need.
19:35Anything you need.
19:36So thank you so, so much.
19:37Did you see that truck?
19:39What?
19:40It's like a rolling advertisement.
19:43So we've been trying to find a way to bring more awareness to the organization.
19:50What about that truck?
19:51What if the truck was driving around Los Angeles with her logo and maybe there's a website or a way to donate?
19:58You never know whose heart we can touch.
20:00That's 100% right.
20:01That's the main thing.
20:02You never know.
20:03I feel like we've really accomplished a lot here today.
20:04And now I may have figured out my hero moment.
20:07I love the idea of using an LED truck to promote Love My Neighbor all over Los Angeles.
20:12I think this might be the perfect hero moment for Haley.
20:17Of course.
20:18It's my pleasure.
20:19Have a good afternoon.
20:20Can't wait to see you.
20:21Bye.
20:23And already things aren't going as planned.
20:25The mechanical bull is stuck in traffic.
20:27We need the bull to come in first before we put the furniture.
20:30We know just how much your dad means to you.
20:34So we just wanted to include him in your celebration.
20:37While Lacey's downtown, we're going to start working on the decor and Haley's friend Sissy is going to help us.
20:51We want to learn more about our hero and make sure we're on the right track.
20:55Lacey sent me over here.
20:56She said you guys needed some help.
20:58We do.
20:59We do.
21:00What are we doing?
21:01I'm super happy and excited to come and help because Haley deserves it.
21:05We don't celebrate her often.
21:07Instead, she's always there for us and obviously for the community.
21:11So this is going to be really special.
21:13Okay, so we're trying to make these boot centerpieces.
21:15We're going to put flowers in them.
21:17Do you think that Haley will like them?
21:19She's going to love them.
21:20She loves flowers and pink flowers.
21:23We thought these centerpieces would really be on theme.
21:25She is from Texas.
21:27How'd you get involved in Love My Neighbor?
21:29Well, I was going through a really difficult moment in my life.
21:33And I just decided to go out there and help.
21:37I love my volunteers.
21:38Are we ready to roll, ladies and gentlemen?
21:40I can't do it on my own.
21:41So I love the fact that I have volunteers and that I'm encouraging other people to help.
21:47And to see people come on board and find their passion, to see them grow, it's an honor.
21:55I wish we had more exposure so people can really see all the great work that she does every single week.
22:02I mean, rain or shine, she is out there.
22:05Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday and she still serves.
22:09Oh, wow.
22:10So for one of the typical events, right, how many volunteers do you typically have?
22:14Sometimes we can have up to 15 people and sometimes we can only have three people.
22:19Oh, no.
22:20So we have to figure it out.
22:21Right.
22:22It's like days.
22:23She does so much for everybody, the community, even us, you know, her volunteers.
22:28She's always thinking about everybody else.
22:31I feel like we got some painting done and learned more about Haley.
22:35She's going to be so surprised.
22:37She doesn't even know what's coming.
22:39Like, oh, I'm so excited.
22:40Thank you so much for your ideas.
22:53Do you think that we'll be able to cover the whole space?
22:55Because our bowl is coming soon, so we need to know where to place it.
22:58It's party day.
22:59Sometimes these things run smoothly and sometimes they don't.
23:03Hello?
23:04Hey, I'm calling about the mechanical bowl.
23:06Oh, hey, Nanny.
23:07How's it going?
23:08Got some bad news.
23:09The bowl's delayed.
23:11We're out of the gate and already things aren't going as planned.
23:14The mechanical bowl is stuck in traffic.
23:17Well, you know what?
23:18There's something you can do.
23:19Do your best.
23:20Thanks for letting me know and I'll tell Lisa and Marissa.
23:21Yeah.
23:22And it would be really funny, except I'm a little stressed out because we have to get everything
23:26ready in time for Haley.
23:27Good morning.
23:28Hi.
23:29Lacey.
23:30Happy celebration day.
23:31This is perfect.
23:32This is a perfect outfit.
23:34I love your outfit.
23:35I love it.
23:36This is amazing.
23:37I had to pull out the cowboy boots, my fringe.
23:38This is amazing.
23:39We love that you go all in.
23:40So, I just got a phone call and the bowl is stuck in traffic.
23:44The bowl is?
23:45How long?
23:46How long?
23:4730 to 40 minutes.
23:48We're not sure.
23:49Oh, shoot.
23:50I looked at it and it's, you know, L.A. traffic unpredictable, but they're getting
23:53here as fast as they can.
23:54The reason it's like throwing a wrench in our day is because we need the bowl to come in
23:58first before we put the furniture.
24:00For the install, we're going to have to make sure that all of the furniture in the room
24:04is pushed to the sides to create a clear path for the bull when it arrives.
24:17I love these.
24:18I love it.
24:19It's perfect.
24:20It's one of her favorite colors.
24:21It's Western.
24:22Haley is going to love them.
24:23Oh, Revelry's here.
24:24Hi.
24:25Hi, guys.
24:26How are you?
24:27The furniture rentals arrived right on time, so we can start getting our sofas in place.
24:31These are our lounges right here.
24:32Yeah, so this wall and this wall, and then the one lounge, really where this table is.
24:41Okay, I'll call and check on the bowl one more time.
24:43Yes, please.
24:44We're doing some fun with neon, so I'm going to go check on that.
24:46I love neon.
24:47Perfect.
24:50Okay, perfect.
24:52George, hey!

31:19let's go let's go let's go
31:21let's go let's go
31:23let's go
31:23let's go
31:24I've never had somebody, you know, when I walk in the room say, surprise, and I've always
31:51wanted that. I've never had that. And to open that curtain and to see faces that I haven't seen in a
31:58couple of months or whatever the case may be, and the ones I see all the time, you know, just mixed
32:02together. It's a great feeling. Hi, Hailey. I'm Lacey. Okay, I need tissue. Okay. Can we get a tissue, please?
32:09Somebody, somebody. Oh, here we go. Thank you so much. I know, I need one too. So I know this is probably a little
32:17overwhelming and clearly this is not an interview. Okay. But this is actually a show and we celebrate
32:23heroes who are doing amazing things in their community. And we're here today to celebrate
32:26you for all that you do to help so many in the unhoused community. So today we're here to celebrate
32:31you and this is for you. Thank you. This all came to be because your dear friend Naima nominated you
32:41I think heroes. I nominated you because over the last 10 years, I've seen you put in
32:46an tremendous amount of work. I've seen the ups and the downs and all the difficult things that
32:52you've gone through and all the challenges. And you always want to celebrate everybody else. But
32:57what about you? For 10 years, I've been watching Hailey put in all the work. She puts it in through
33:03ups, downs. She went through COVID. We went through storms and things will always continue to happen.
33:08But to have someone who's going to show up and say, hey, no matter what's happening, I'm going to,
33:13I'm going to be here for you. She knows that she's serving an underserved community.
33:17This is for you. We want you to celebrate and have fun. So please enjoy the party.
33:22Hi, ladies. Happy 10 years at County.
33:27Y'all all like you.
33:2910 years, Ailey.
33:33Go make your hat.
33:34I'm still kind of shocked, you guys.
33:36I love this whole Western theme.
33:40All right, cool.
33:41And then I seen the mechanical bull.
33:44I was like, yes, I'm all for that.
33:47There you go.
33:49Uh-uh.
33:50See that hand up here.
33:51Sorry.
33:53I love that.
33:54This is so insane.
33:55You see the love my neighbor's sign of neon?
33:57I love this.
33:58I know, right?
34:00This is a great thing.
34:01It is.
34:01Oh, you miss home.
34:03I made you miss home, right?
34:05To meet Lacey for the first time was amazing.
34:08Just the fact that, you know, she wanted to help honor Love My Neighbor Foundation and myself.
34:13You know, I'm just honored to be honored.
34:15Oh, it's like, come on.
34:19We're going to start with our right leg.
34:29We're going to go out, in, out, in.
34:32And do you know what a grapevine is?
34:33Mm-hmm.
34:34We're going to do a grapevine for the rest.
34:35We do.
34:35Out, in, out, in.
34:37Julianne is a great instructor, but I'm just trying to keep up as best I can.
34:42And I feel like I may be the weakest link, but I'm trying, and we're all having a great
34:46time doing it.
34:47Good five, six, seven, eight.
34:51Oh, you got it.
34:53Oh, you got it.
34:54Oh, you got it.
34:56Oh, you got it.
34:59Oh, you got it.
35:00Oh, you got it.
35:02Oh, my God.
35:04She was a really great teacher, so she was saying the steps while she was doing it.
35:07Woo.
35:09Get up.
35:10Let's get it.
35:11I love that you love it.
35:14Oh.
35:15I had fun.
35:15It was amazing.
35:16I'm a Texas girl.
35:18I'm going to surprise Haley with her hero moment.
35:21The truck is about to pull around the corner.
35:23Haley, if you'll come with me, I have a surprise for you.
35:26Uh-oh.
35:26Okay.
35:26Okay.
35:27Come on.
35:28She's outside here.
35:29She's a little scared.
35:30I am a lot scared.
35:32Okay.
35:35I just was so touched by everything that you do, and something that Naima and I
35:41were talking about that could really be helpful was to find a way to support fundraising.
35:45So we have begun a relationship for you with LED Truck Media Company, and they are going
35:52to be driving around with your picture and Love My Neighbor.
35:56So if you look down, the truck is actually down there with your face on it, and they are going
36:03to be driving around Los Angeles for the next six months.
36:06Oh, my God!
36:07Oh, my God!
36:08Thank you so much.
36:10That is so amazing.
36:12And that is so...
36:13Oh, my God.
36:13It's our pleasure.
36:14Congratulations on 10 years, too.
36:16I love the LED truck.
36:18It warms my heart, and we can reach further and keep serving the people.
36:22I believe it's going to help tremendously.
36:26I'm so overwhelmed.
36:27I love it.
36:29Oh, my gosh, you guys!
36:31Yes!
36:32There's a truck right now driving around L.A.
36:36is an LED truck with our logo, my picture on it.
36:43Yes!
36:44It's going to be a good year for us, you guys.
36:45Yes!
36:46Claim it!
36:46All our friends are ready to have some fun, and the night has only just begun.
36:53All right, so if everyone will gather around, thank you all so much for being here today
36:56to celebrate the incredible Haley.
36:58And we just wanted to close out the party with a couple of special surprises for you.
37:03So we actually chose this venue, the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall, because it's services and
37:10honors vets.
37:12Your father being a vet, we thank him for his service, and we know just how much your dad
37:18means to you, and also how proud he would be of you in this moment.
37:23And so we just wanted to include him in your celebration.
37:27So we've printed this for you.
37:28Oh, my gosh!
37:31We love you!
37:35We just thought you could have it, and...
37:37Thank you!
37:38Aw, you guys, I love this.
37:40Thank you so much.
37:41You're so welcome.
37:42Yeah, my dad just...
37:44He raised me, and he meant everything to me, and, you know, I am the person I am today because
37:51of my dad.
37:52So it just means a lot, you know?
37:54I wish he was here.
37:55My dad was in the military.
37:57He was in the Air Force, and he wanted me to join the Air Force.
38:01And I feel like it's his way, saying that I'm serving the people.
38:09So that meant everything to me.
38:11The plaque meant a lot to me.
38:13One more thing.
38:14Aw!
38:15Okay.
38:16Just give me one second, please.
38:17Okay.
38:18Okay.
38:19So, to continue to support the wonderful work you do with Love My Neighbor, we are excited
38:36to present this $10,000 check to you.
38:51Will this help out?
38:52Yes.
38:53Dependently.
38:54Yes.
38:55Thank you guys so much.
38:56$10,000 for 10 years?
38:58Yay!
39:01This $10,000 check has really taken a load off of me.
39:07Donations have been running dry the last few years, so this will definitely help us with
39:13operations, with continuing doing what we're doing.
39:16It's a big, huge help.
39:18It takes one person deciding to do one thing.
