00:00next question assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh my name is khalida from germany
00:07why does god keep reminding us in the quran for what he gives us because it is mentioned in the
00:16quran that when we give something to others not to remind them of it which is not good for that one
00:22sister khalida has asked a very important question and within the quran that do you not remember the
00:32favors of allah asmana wa taala and allah says which of the favors of the lord will you deny for
00:38and various places in the quran allah has said many times so the question posed is that allah
00:43tells us human beings that when we do some good deeds or charity do not follow it up with reminders
00:50not following injuries so how come allah is reminding up as human beings of his favor
00:57what the sister is referring to the verse of the quran of surah bakra chapter number two
01:01was number 262 where allah says those who give in charity and follow it up not with reminders
01:08nor with injuries they are the one who will receive a reward from allah subhanahu ta'ala
01:13they will not fear and they will not grieve the next was surah bakra chapter 2 verse number 263 says
01:19that kind words and covering up of walls are better than charity followed with reminders
01:28allah is free of all wants now what is the logic where allah tells us in the quran and in several
01:35hadith that when you do good deeds when you help someone when you give charity don't follow it up with
01:40reminders don't follow it up with injury kind words and covering of false is better than charity followed
01:48with reminders or injury and in the quran allah himself reminds us many times that allah has done
01:54so many favors for us allah has given us this good life this good health etc etc the logic here is
02:01that in this world whatever we possess belongs to allah subhanahu ta'ala the full universe the complete
02:07world all the material in this world the actual owner is allah subhanahu ta'ala we are just wise
02:13gerents of allah subhanahu ta'ala on this earth whatever wealth we possess actually doesn't belong to us
02:21it is the niyama of allah subhanahu ta'ala whatever good thing we have it is from allah subhanahu ta'ala so
02:26when this is the niyama of allah subhanahu ta'ala when it's the blessing of allah subhanahu ta'ala
02:31when it's the wealth of allah which allah has given to us then when we give in charity allah is
02:37telling us allah is reminding us when you give in charity when you spend in the way of allah do not
02:43follow it up with reminders or with injury why because to remind you that what you're giving
02:50in charity does not belong to you it is allah who has done a favor in you so if allah has done so much
02:56favor part of the favor you give to your other human beings to your brothers and sisters and
03:02telling you that don't boast about it because everything belongs to allah so when allah has
03:07given you so much and a small percentage of it or a part of it if you are giving to your brothers and
03:11sisters it's nothing great neither do you send reminders or follow it up with injury because kind
03:20words and covering of faults is better than charity followed with injury and reminders but in the other
03:28case where allah subhanahu ta'ala is giving us all these niyama why did why is allah reminding in the
03:34quran the reason is number one all this belongs to allah subhanahu ta'ala and allah subhanahu ta'ala
03:39is not reminding us so that he will become great not to show off when we remind someone that we have done
03:46some good deed we have done charity we are actually boasting we are showing off we are trying to say
03:52see i'm such a good man i'm such a charitable person and when you give injury you're trying to put him
03:57down you're trying to belittling him in this case where allah to allah belongs everything when he is
04:03doing these favors the reason he's telling you is not to boast he doesn't say so that he becomes more
04:09popular allah subhanahu ta'ala is already the greatest he's telling you so that you follow his
04:15commandments when allah is telling us that say allahu akbar allah is the greatest do you think allah
04:23becomes greater when we say allah is allah not at all allah is always the greatest is already the
04:30greatest whether you say allah or not it will not make any difference to allah subhanahu ta'ala whether
04:36you say once or whether you say million times or whether you don't say allah is only the greatest
04:40it will not make an out of difference to him the reason he is reminding you of his favors is because
04:49that is the psychology of the human being if someone has done favor to you you tend to follow his
04:57advice for example if a doctor treats you and then if a doctor takes this medicine oh you know the doctor
05:04is very famous he's known he's the best heart specialist and if you have a heart problem and
05:09if he gives you some medicine you'll take it because he's very famous he's well known so same way when
05:16we are praising allah subhanahu ta'ala the moment we praise him we tend to follow his advice the moment
05:22we are reminded that he has done this favors to you he is the one who possesses it is indirectly for your
05:28benefit when we are reminding to the people who we have given a gift we are actually beliting ourselves
05:36we are failing to realize that these things don't belong to us it belongs to allah subhanahu ta'ala so
05:41when we remind of the charity we are given we are actually degrading ourselves and we are losing in the
05:48akhira in this case when allah subhanahu ta'ala is reminding of his favors in the quran to the human
05:55beings what he wants he wants the human beings to follow the guidance of allah subhanahu ta'ala in the
06:02quran he wants us to follow the guidance because he is the most wise the reason he's reminding us is
06:11for our benefit not for his benefit when we remind we are doing it for showing off when we remind
06:16to another human being that we are given a charity and we try and insult him we are boasting
06:20and we are actually causing loss for us in the akhira and even in the dunya when allah is reminding
06:27it makes no difference to us he is reminding us so that you follow his advice and all the
06:33ways in the quran when it says don't you which of the favors of the lord will you deny and then allah
06:40gives the favor and then allah gives the guidance so if you read in the quran when allah talks about
06:44the favors he has given to you there is also guidance with it so allah is actually indirectly
06:50convincing you that you have to follow his guidance so that it will benefit you in this world and the
06:55after that hope that i am so the question as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
