Alpine meldet sich zur zweiten Saisonhälfte der FIA Langstrecken-Weltmeisterschaft zurück und liefert beim 6-Stunden-Rennen von São Paulo eine kämpferische Leistung ab. Auf dem Autódromo José Carlos Pace in Interlagos zeigen die beiden Alpine A424-Hypercars eine solide Pace und bringen wichtige Punkte mit nach Hause.
Nach einem durchwachsenen Qualifying starten die Fahrzeuge #35 und #36 von den Plätzen 15 und 16. Während #35 durch ein Batterieproblem zurückgeworfen wird, kann sich #36 – pilotiert von Makowiecki, Gounon und Schumacher – Stück für Stück nach vorn arbeiten.
Mit spannenden Zweikämpfen gegen Aston Martin, Porsche, Toyota und Ferrari gelingt am Ende Rang 9 für die #36. Weniger als 1 Sekunde fehlte auf den nächsten Platz – ein starkes Resultat angesichts der Umstände. Das Team nutzt die Sommerpause nun zur Datenanalyse und Vorbereitung auf das nächste Rennen in Austin.
