00:00Welcome to the video from Auto Magazine Tuning Blog about the Mercedes Vision V Concept Car,
00:06the luxurious show car from Pebble Beach Automotive Week 2025 that rethinks travel as an immeasurable media experience.
00:14The appearance in California is fitting, because between design studies, historical icons and technology premieres,
00:20Mercedes wants to show how a grand limousine will not only move, but also entertain and calm in the future.
00:26Following its world premiere in Shanghai and a stop in Dubai,
00:30the concept is now being shown in North America for the first time.
00:34With a clear message, here, mobility is presented as a pleasant private time.
00:39The focus is on the enclosed passenger cabin described by Mercedes as a private lounge.
00:45The idea behind it is simple and effective.
00:48Anyone who gets in should be visually and acoustically separated from the rest of the world,
00:53allowing them to concentrate on content, conversations or silence.
00:57The centerpiece is a demonstratively staged 65-inch screen that extends from the floor,
01:03the mechanism of which is not hidden, but rather deliberately showcases the amount of engineering skill
01:08that goes into the movement with fine wood and leather surfaces.
01:11When the panel is in position, the seats slide back automatically.
01:17The perspective becomes broad.
01:19The cabin transforms into a salon on wheels.
01:22The cinema screen operates in high-resolution 4K quality and is adept at Dolby Vision with rich contrasts and fine color gradations.
01:31A surround system with 42 speakers is responsible for the sound.
01:36This is supplemented by exciters integrated into the seat cushions that transmit vibrations directly to the body,
01:43thus bringing music and film sound to life.
01:46In addition, seven projection modules project onto the ceiling, floor and sides.
01:52The side windows become an additional surface.
01:54The ambient lighting acts like a conductor and dynamically coordinates its scenes with the music and image.
02:01The entire system is controlled via a touchpad in the center console,
02:05which bundles the complex technology behind a smooth surface.
02:09For the USA, Mercedes has expanded the karaoke offering that has already been tried and tested in Asia to include English-language content.
02:17This may sound playful, but it reflects a real trend.
02:20Vehicles are increasingly being used as private entertainment spaces in which waiting times and journeys can be meaningfully filled.
02:29The Vision FA takes up exactly this without losing its claim to prestige.
02:33The design language remains restrained, the materials high quality,
02:38the look more lounge-like than a classic coupe with clear surfaces and a focus on tranquility instead of visual appeal.
02:44At the same time, the Vision FSIG sees itself as a showcase for the next generation of large Mercedes vans.
02:52From 2026, two lines are to be created on a new modular van architecture.
02:58VLE with a variable space concept for up to eight seats and VLS is a particularly luxurious version.
03:05The show car does not provide any specific performance data,
03:08but there are many indications that it will have an all-electric drive with plenty of horsepower and powerful newton meters.
03:13Powered by a battery with high kilowatt-hours and cells with many ampere-hours.
03:19The aim is to cover long, quiet stretches during which,
03:23even at motorway speeds of over 100 kilometers per hour,
03:26the rear driver can still concentrate on a film, music or video conference.
03:31How much is all this technology and craftsmanship likely to cost in series production?
03:35There are no official figures, but the company's current electric MPV shows where things are headed.
03:42With a lavish range of features, it costs around 110,000 euros.
03:47For the VLS variants with media features that will be positioned even more opulently in the future,
03:53an entry price of well over 150,000 euros seems realistic,
03:58although experience has shown that well-equipped models are likely to cost even more.
04:02These amounts are to be understood as a guide and are deliberately formulated as an approximation.
04:09Such a cinema room in the car raises practical questions.
04:13How robust are retractable large screens, projectors and dozens of loudspeakers
04:18in tough everyday use with temperature fluctuations, dust and vibrations?
04:22How efficiently do processors, image converters and power amplifiers work
04:26so that the multimedia system does not have too much of an impact on the electric range?
04:31Mercedes indicates that it will design the energy management system in such a way
04:35that even longer sessions when stationary or while driving do not disrupt the travel plan.
04:42Intelligent profiles that dynamically limit performance when the remaining energy buffer
04:46falls below a certain threshold and predictive thermal management
04:50that keeps the hardware in its ideal range are conceivable.
04:53The question also remains as to how much of the visionary superstructure
04:58will make the leap into series production.
05:01Show cars traditionally show the maximum version,
05:04from which a part later finds its way into the configurator.
05:07It is quite possible that the private lounge will become more modular in series production
05:12with an optional large screen, scalable projection and varying depths in the sound setup.
05:17The next one to two years should clarify which modules will be offered to customers
05:23and at what additional costs, which in turn will sharpen the gap between the VLE and VLS.
05:30For the German market, a luxury MPV above the previous V-Class would be an exciting step.
05:37While business van chauffeurs are already firmly established in Asia and the USA,
05:42the segment in this country is smaller but demanding.
05:46Hotels, shuttle services, companies with VIP transport requirements
05:50and private customers with a demand for peace, technology and representation
05:54could appreciate an electric lounge on wheels that is simultaneously a workspace,
05:59a cinema and a place of retreat.
06:01The Vision Vo provides the blueprint for this.
06:04A vehicle that enhances travel time instead of just shortening it
06:08and thus opens a new chapter in the Luxury Wave Cosmos.
