00:16With the E5 Sportback, Audi is presenting the first production model of its new Chinese brand Audi.
00:21The vehicle was unveiled on Tuesday evening as part of the Volkswagen Group's traditional group night, one day before the start of the auto-shy.
00:33The new model was developed jointly with the Chinese partner CIT and is based on the advanced digitalized platform, which is being used for the first time and is tailored to the specific requirements of Chinese customers.
00:45The target group are technology-savvy buyers for whom digital features and intelligent systems are a priority.
00:56The E5 Sportback is a fully electric five-door hatchback with sporty lines a classic Sportback as defined by Audi.
01:03With a length of around 4.9 meters, a width of just under 2 meters, and a height of about 1.5 meters, its dimensions are similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 6.
01:16Models such as the Audi A6 e-tron or the VWi D7 are somewhat larger.
01:21Four drivetrain variants are available, with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, and outputs of around 300 horsepower, around 400 horsepower, approximately 580 horsepower, and a top-of-the-line variant with around 780 horsepower.
01:36The latter accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.4 seconds.
01:41The battery has a capacity of up to 100 kWh, which, according to Audi, enables a range of up to 770 kilometers.
01:51However, it remains unclear whether this value refers to the Chinese CLTC cycle or the European WLTP standard.
02:00Thanks to the 800-volt technology, the battery can be charged in just 10 minutes, allowing an additional range of around 370 kilometers.

02:13Technically, the E5 Sportback also impresses with its adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering, which enhance both comfort and agility.
02:22Visually, the vehicle stands out with a striking black frame at the front and rear, which integrates not only the lighting and radar sensors, but also spoiler elements and air intakes.
02:32Particularly eye-catching are the slit-like matrix LED headlights and an illuminated frame composed of over 1,000 triangular light sources, which only switches on after the system is started.
02:44The interior continues the luxurious feel.
02:48Fine materials, concealed air vents, indirect ambient lighting, and a fragrance diffuser with three different aromas create a pleasant atmosphere.
02:57The center console allows for the simultaneous wireless charging of two smartphones, while speakers integrated into the headrests intensify the audio experience.
03:09The panoramic glass roof automatically adapts to the lighting conditions and darkens as needed.
03:14A real highlight is the continuous panoramic display with a screen diagonal of 34 inches, which extends across the entire width of the cockpit and seamlessly integrates the monitors of the camera-based exterior mirrors.
03:30It runs on the new Audi OS operating system, which is fully networked with China's digital world.
03:36Numerous entertainment options and apps are available via facial recognition.
03:43Smartphone connectivity has also been tailored to the specific requirements of the Chinese market.
03:50The Audi assistant, an AI-supported avatar that is controlled by both voice and touch, is responsible for operation.
03:59The behavior of this assistant can be customized.
04:01Thanks to its high computing power, the system not only responds quickly and precisely but also saves personalized settings and provides responsive feedback.
04:12The Audi control bar in the center console adapts to different content and functions depending on the context, making operation more intuitive.
04:20The comprehensive assistance systems of the Audi e5 Sportback are based on a total of 29 sensors, including a charger, three long-range millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 11 cameras, and several multimodal sensor units.
04:38This will enable the so-called Audi 360-assisted driving system, which, among other things, helps avoid obstacles, recognizes traffic lights, and enables automatic lane changes.
04:51The functionality has been specifically adapted to Chinese traffic conditions, i.e., a roadscape with many two- and three-wheelers, children playing, and frequent nighttime driving.
05:01The E5 Sportback will be produced exclusively in China, like all models based on the ADP platform.
05:10The market launch is planned for summer 2025.
05:14Audi has not yet announced an official price.
05:16However, it is likely that the starting price will be around €60,000 to €70,000.
05:26Two more fully electric models are announced for the coming years, to follow in 2026 and 2027.
