00:00The all-new Kia K4 Hatchback.
00:07Please welcome Executive Director of Product Planning, Kia North America, Orth Hedrick.
00:17Thank you, good morning everybody.
00:19The Hatchback is K4's athletic, versatile sibling, created for people who are always on the go.
00:26Inspired by the striking design of the sedan, the K4 Hatchback carves out its own athletic identity.
00:34The vertical LED headlights and taillights take a cue from the EV9 and give the K4 Hatchback an unmistakable presence on the road.
00:43The hidden rear door handles concealed in the C-pillar, combined with the wide rear quarter panels,
00:49and also the short overhang contribute to a clean, muscular appearance.
00:54The floating roof design seamlessly integrates into the rear hatch, resulting in a sleek, modern profile that stands out from everything else in the crowd.
01:04And if that's not enough to catch your eye, check out this sparkling yellow.
01:08It's a new exterior color exclusive to the Hatchback.
01:12Now, one of the greatest advantages of Hatchback body style is versatility.
01:17The K4 Hatchback is almost 11 inches shorter than the sedan, yet it offers class-leading rear headroom and legroom, plus even more cargo space.
01:34With the seats up, you can pack more than 22 cubic feet of gear in here.
01:38With the seats down, the cargo increases to more than 59 cubic feet.
01:47It's large enough to enable all of your adventures, and also short enough for effortless city parking.
01:55Plus, that versatility comes at no compromise to driving fun.
02:00Now, under the hood, we have two new exciting powertrains.
02:02For those who prioritize efficiency, the standard 2-liter engine delivers 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque.
02:12This is through an intelligent variable transmission.
02:15Now, for those who want to take their driving experience to the next level,
02:20the GT-Line turbo model is available with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that cranks out 190 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
02:29Now, this one's paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
02:33Combine that with a sport-tuned, independent rear suspension, a compact footprint,
02:39and this hatchback delivers agile, precise, responsive handling for a more engaging drive.
02:46On top of that, the K4 Hatchback shares a comprehensive collection of advanced technologies with its sedan sibling,
02:53including a panoramic digital display, connected car, navigation cockpit, along with 16 standard and up to 29 total ADAS technologies.
03:05Design, versatility, power, precision, and technology.
03:11It's all in one complete package.
03:14That's the Kia K4 Hatchback.
03:16Look for it later this year.
03:17Now, let's turn our attention to something completely new.
03:21Kia's first ever dedicated EV sedan.
03:25It's all about helping a wider audience of customers find their way to a practical, affordable, right-sized EV
03:31that only meets their needs, but it looks great while doing it.
03:36Introducing the all-new Kia EV4.
03:39Choosing your first electric vehicle can be a daunting challenge with uncertainties fogging the road ahead.
03:50Allow us to light the way with standout style,
03:57technology designed to serve real-world needs,
04:01and proven EV performance and capability.
04:05Introducing the all-new Kia EV4.
04:25Please welcome Senior Chief Designer, Kia Design Center America, Tom Kearns.
04:32Thank you. Good morning.
04:33Today, we are proud to introduce the next step in Kia's electrification journey
04:39and our Opposites United design evolution, the all-new Kia EV4.
04:47Now, for the design team, the EV4 presented an exciting challenge
04:50and a great opportunity to show how we do things differently.
04:55You may have noticed that, from a design perspective,
04:58many EVs take the path of least resistance, literally.
05:04They prioritize aerodynamic efficiency, often at the expense of making a unique design statement.
05:12So we wanted the EV4 to stand out from the pack.
05:16And we know that's what our new generation of EV buyers wants as well.
05:21They're proud of their decision to go electric
05:24and want their vehicle to complement their forward-thinking attitude.
05:31Another thing many EVs have in common
05:34is the pricing that leans more towards the higher end.
05:37But our ultimate goal is to make electrified driving attainable for everyone.
05:44So with EV4, we made it our mission to deliver an EV sedan without compromise.
05:51Efficient with a distinctive and tech-forward design.
05:56And attainable, yet packed with many of the advanced features
05:59and technologies found in our more premium vehicles.
06:03And it really starts right up front.
06:06EV captures the same visual DNA as our top-of-the-line EV6 and our EV9.
06:13The vertical headlights, the star-mapped lighting, and an evolved tiger face.
06:19All Kia signatures that contribute to a confident, futuristic presence.
06:26Available small-cube LED headlights with dynamic welcome lights
06:30are exciting upgrades that are unique to this segment.
06:35And as your eye moves rearward, you notice the entire surface of the vehicle
06:39is an interplay of sharp, faceted forms and fluid, muscular surfaces.
06:46Much like you see on a stealth fighter.
06:49Looking at the profile, it's clear that EV4 explores new territory
06:55resulting in a very different kind of sedan.
06:58The low nose, the long tail silhouette, and the fast-back roofline
07:03all set EV4 apart from the traditional profile
07:07and give it an unmistakable sporty stance.
07:11Both the standard 17-inch Aero wheels and the 19-inch spoke-type wheels on the GT line
07:17lend the vehicle a sure-footed appearance.
07:20And the rear-end design echoes the aesthetic of the front
07:25with sleek taillights and a two-piece spoiler that emphasizes width.
07:31Even with its distinct character, EV4 still achieves an ultra-low drag coefficient
07:37with airflow enhanced by full underbody covers.
07:41At 0.23 coefficient of drag, EV4 scores even better
07:47than sports cars like the 2025 Porsche 911 GTS and the BMW M4.
07:55Opposites United really comes into life on the inside
07:59as we surround occupants with contrast in form, color, and material.
08:04The layout is centered around a sleek, free-floating interface
08:08with a nearly 30-inch combined widescreen display
08:12and an airy cabin designed to evoke a sense of openness.
08:18Functionality?
08:19The interior is all about simplicity and ease of use.
08:24Anyone who's making the switch from gas to electric.
08:28And it's filled with features you'd come to expect
08:31like heated seats and steering wheel
08:33and there's plenty of room for both passengers and cargo.
08:39And to top it off, you can set the mood
08:41with available 64 color dynamic ambient lighting.
08:46All of that at a reasonable price point
08:49for customers who have been waiting for the right vehicle
08:52to make the switch to EVs.
08:55And now, to tell you more about the technology inside EV4,
09:00please help me welcome Vice President Marketing, Russell Wager.
09:12Thanks, Tom.
09:14The Kia EV4 is a vehicle with a mission
09:18to strengthen our electrified vehicle portfolio
09:22and encourage widespread EV adoption.
09:26To do that, it must deliver attainable performance,
09:30efficiency, and technology
09:33that works effortlessly for the driver in the real world.
09:39Our solution starts with the proven 400-volt eGMP platform
09:44and a front-mounted 150-kilowatt motor.
09:47There are two battery options,
09:51one aimed at daily commuters
09:52and one for the road trippers,
09:56delivering up to a Kia-estimated 330 miles
10:00of all-electric range.
10:02When it's time to power up,
10:04DC fast charging gets you from 10% to 80% state of charge
10:08in as little as 29 minutes on the light trim
10:11via the standard Naxx charging port
10:14on the front fender.
10:16On the road,
10:18the EV4 balances agility and comfort
10:20with a well-tuned chassis,
10:23precise steering,
10:25and advanced regenerative braking
10:27with our iPedal 3.0 system.
10:30iPedal 3.0 allows you to speed up,
10:34slow down,
10:35or even come to a complete stop,
10:37all just using the accelerator pedal.
10:40It also captures energy
10:42that would normally be lost when braking,
10:45helping to maximize efficiency.
10:48And now, iPedal 3.0 works in reverse.
10:53It also remembers your last iPedal setting
10:55so you don't have to reset it
10:57every time you start the vehicle.
11:00As with other Kia EV models,
11:03EV4 doesn't just take you places.
11:05It's your on-the-go power source,
11:07available vehicle-to-load functionality
11:10allows drivers to power devices,
11:13whether it's a laptop,
11:14camping equipment,
11:15or smaller electronics.
11:17On the road,
11:19the EV4 is designed
11:21to make every drive
