00:00From June 2025, the Subaru Crosstrek and the closely related Subaru Impreza will receive a 5-star safety rating from Ancher.
00:11This rating applies to all petrol and hybrid variants of the Crosstrek, as well as to all petrol variants of the Impreza, provided they were produced from April 2025 onwards.
00:23Due to the structural and safety related similarities of the two models, the same test results were used for both.
00:30While the Crosstrek was tested in frontal full-width tests, oblique impact collisions and side impact tests, the Impreza was subjected to the offset frontal impact test.
00:44Both vehicles demonstrated a high level of protection for adult occupants, with full points awarded in several areas, particularly in terms of driver protection.
00:54The Impreza offered comparable performance in its own side impact and pedestrian tests.
01:00In terms of child safety, both models achieved maximum points, safely accommodating 6- and 10-year-old dummies.
01:07Isofix and Topter anchorages are available in the second row of seats.
01:11In terms of protection of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists, the values were around 85% for the Crosstrek and 84% for the M-Pressor.
01:22The ability to automatically avoid accidents was rated positively.
01:29Differences in the design of the bonnet and bumper led to slightly different results in pedestrian protection.
01:36The Impreza performed better in head and lower leg protection, while the Crosstrek was superior in thigh protection.
01:44Both models feature the I-Site system with emergency braking assistant, lane keeping assistant, emergency lane departure prevention, speed assistant and driver monitoring to detect drowsiness and distraction.
