00:00Welcome to the Tuning Blog video, where we take a closer look at the extensive facelift of the Toyota BZ4X for the 2025 model year.
00:11Toyota is now going all out with its electric SUV and is making not only visual but also technical adjustments that significantly enhance the model.
00:20The redesign of the front end is particularly striking.
00:23The new model year says goodbye to classic headlights and instead relies on a continuous LED light strip that extends across the entire width.
00:34Two compact headlights provide the main lighting, embedded in a front apron that has also been revised.
00:40At the rear, however, everything remains unchanged.
00:44However, Toyota has made major changes to the interior.
00:47The voluminous dashboard has given way to a slimmer design with horizontal air vents.
00:55The digital instrument display is now freestanding behind a steering wheel, while the large 14-inch multimedia display with separate controls has been integrated into the redesigned center console.
01:07There are also two charging areas for smartphones there and the gear selector switch has been pushed further back towards the armrest.
01:13The update brings with it a number of technical improvements.
01:18The navigation software maintains a charging schedule, which automatically brings the battery to the optimum temperature before planned charging stops.
01:27This function can also be activated manually.
01:30There have also been advances in charging.
01:33While the first BZ4X was still quite slow at 3.5 kW on the W-Box, 11 kW is now possible as standard, optionally, even 22 kW.
01:42At fast charging stations, the maximum charging power remains at 150 kW.
01:49However, battery preconditioning could lead to faster charging times.
01:53A lot has also changed in terms of drivetrains.
01:57Toyota is introducing a new entry-level variant with a smaller 57.7 kW battery and 167 hp front-wheel drive.
02:05The version with the large 73.1 kW battery gets 224 hp, which is 20 hp more than before.
02:15The all-wheel drive model is particularly impressive.
02:19Here, the power increases to 343 hp, which means the BZ4X can now keep up with powerful competitors.
02:25Another advantage of the increased power is the towing capacity, which now increases to 1.5 tons.
02:32Toyota has not yet officially announced prices for the facelift.
02:37The current base model starts at just under 33,000 euros, although the entry-level model with the new, smaller battery would probably be cheaper.
02:45The powerful all-wheel drive version, on the other hand, is likely to cost significantly more than the previous 50,000 euros.
02:54The market launch in Germany is planned for autumn 2025.
