00:00I mean, we've always had a strong connection to motorsport and motorsport tradition,
00:15and here it was the combination of offering the third generation of an entry-level model.
00:21Naturally based on very successful vehicles developed for the road and correspondingly
00:26suitable for the racetrack. In other words, the objective was to create a worthy,
00:31high-quality successor to the entry-level model in racing, which we actually created with the M255i in 2014.
00:40Naturally, I have a very positive impression. I've been involved with the M2 racing from the
00:44very beginning, from the very first second. Accordingly, it's a bit of my baby emotionally,
00:50and I'm very proud to have followed the development process. I think now, at such a late stage of
00:56development, it's just a matter of fine-tuning the final details, checking the durability.
01:01We're here with a car that really only drives kilometers, lap after lap after lap,
01:06as many kilometers as possible per day, simply to safeguard the overall package and then provide
01:11customers with a durable car with very low running costs. Off, we're now slowly entering the final
01:19stretch of endurance testing. That means we've thoroughly inspected and checked the car again,
01:24even fitted it with some new parts, and we want to conclude the endurance test program in the next
01:30few weeks or months to get the car ready for production in the middle of the year.
01:36I believe the driver always has his own language, because he's ultimately the link, let's say,
01:41between the driving experience and the process data world.
01:44And accordingly, you have to try to find what your intuition ultimately tells you in the data.
01:52In this case, with the M2 racing, we have a button called a marker, and I can set a trigger on the
01:57data accordingly. We can then look at it together with engineers from Needleberg, for example. I found
02:02something there, who, for example, is, let's say, that MDM or a driving system was perhaps good or bad.
02:08I also set a very positive tone when something has been improved, for example.
02:12So it is very challenging, let's say, initially to build trust and to be able to link the data that
02:18is in the foreground with the driver's world and then speak the same language together in order to
02:23raise it to a higher level. I really enjoy it because my colleagues are all very, very competent
02:29and have been doing their jobs for a long time and have a lot of experience. And to bridge the gap,
02:34it is of course also about the fact that motorsport is a different experience to the series. There are
02:38other requirements in motorsport that the series perhaps doesn't have and vice versa. And I think
02:43we have come together very, very well in this regard, to extract the best for us from both worlds
02:48and then ultimately, of course, to bring it into the car.
02:56What I hope for is and I am almost certain that we will succeed the fun that we are having now with
03:00the development and implementation. The entire team, even though we obviously have to do a few
03:06extra loops, that's normal in development, is committed to ensuring that this enthusiasm
03:11ultimately reaches the customers when they later drive the cars on tracks around the world. But I'm
03:16very confident about that, because we've been setting the benchmarks for over 10 years, I think.
