00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about the brand new 2025 Toyota IGO-X,
00:07with which the Japanese are surprisingly taking the step into the world of full hybrids.
00:12The manufacturer's smallest model series is not only getting an electrified heart,
00:17but also a new, significantly more powerful drive.
00:20Toyota is replacing the previous 1.0L petrol engine with a 1.5L hybrid.
00:26Known from the Yaris and Yaris Cross,
00:28it has a system output of an impressive 116hp.
00:34Compared to the previous 72hp,
00:36this represents a real leap forward in performance for a small car.
00:42The wheelbase of 2.4m remains unchanged due to the new technology,
00:46but the overall length of the IGO-X has grown by almost 8cm to just under 3.8m.
00:52This means that it is already a considerable 36cm longer than the first generation from 2005.
01:00Visually, the IGO-X is much more modern with a narrower light signature,
01:05revised radiator grille, adapted bonnet and redesigned headlights.
01:08The side view remains largely the same, but appears more dynamic with an extended front overhang.
01:18Black wheel arches and more aerodynamic 17- or 18-inch rims emphasize the robust micro-crossover character.
01:24The exterior mirrors now have integrated indicators, while there are hardly any changes at the rear.
01:31An optional two-tone paint finish brings fresh contrasts into play.
01:35The roof, rear and side skirts are set off in black.
01:40The exterior colors are inspired by spices such as cinnamon, jasmine, tarragon and lavender.
01:45The exclusive canvas roof with grille pattern is also retained in the higher-end equipment lines.
01:52The trunk volume remains at 231L, despite the new technology.
01:58A digital 7-inch instrument cluster has been introduced in the interior, replacing the old smartphone layout.
02:04The infotainment system has also been revised.
02:07An electronic parking brake, two USB-C ports and numerous assistance systems are now standard.
02:13These include a pre-collision system, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, an emergency stop system and a proactive driving assistant.
02:24Also new are over-the-air updates.
02:26Depending on the equipment, a digital key, electrically folding exterior mirrors, an inductive charging cradle and the Nano-X air purification system are also available.
02:36Revised sound insulation on the dashboard, bonnet and underbody ensures a better acoustic experience.
02:43Toyota also installs thicker windows and additional insulation as an option to further reduce the noise level.
02:51The hybrid technology also brings technical innovations.
02:54The battery with longitudinally arranged cells is located under the rear seats for the first time, which saves space.
03:00The starter battery has been relocated to the trunk without reducing its volume.
03:07This results in a lower center of gravity, which, together with the high body rigidity, should enable more agile handling.
03:15Acceleration from 0 to 100 km per hour is now possible in under 10 seconds.
03:20An impressive figure for this class, the turning circle remains compact at 9.40 meters.
03:27Toyota is also offering the Aigo X for the first time in a sporty GR Sport version.
03:33The GR suffix, which reminds connoisseurs of the GR year, already appears at least visually, even if the familiar 1.6L turbo engine is not used.
03:42With a special color scheme in mustard yellow with a black bonnet, aggressive G-Grill, sporty alloy wheels and GR logos, the GR Sport Viente promises to be a visual highlight.
03:55Toyota has not yet commented on the prices, but it is hoped that the model will remain below the magic €20,000 mark.
04:16In any case, the new Aigo X brings a breath of fresh air to the small car segment and shows that emotion and electrification do not have to be mutually exclusive.
04:25The official market launch is planned for the end of 2025.
