00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog, in which today we're looking at an exciting comparison between the Volvo X30 and the Kia EV3.
00:10Please note that our comparison is not a real direct comparison, but only a virtual one.
00:17The vehicles in the video are example vehicles for visual representation.
00:21In the increasingly crowded segment of compact electric SUVs, both the Volvo X30 and the Kia EV3 stand out with their well-thought-out concepts, technical advances, and modern designs.
00:36Both models particularly appeal to users who are looking for a mix of everyday suitability, range, and technological sophistication without sacrificing a certain style.
00:46The Volvo X30 impresses with its clear Scandinavian design.
00:52At around 4.2 meters long, it remains maneuverable.
00:56However, details like the striking LED light signature in the Tour's hammer design and the artfully integrated taillights give it an extremely high-quality feel.
01:06For adventurers, there's also a new cross-country version, which looks more robust and boasts protective paneling and increased ground clearance.
01:16The EX30 is offered in two variants.
01:20The basic single-motor version delivers 272 horsepower to the rear axle and is available with either a 51 or 69 kilowatts battery.
01:30The range is approximately 334 or 476 kilometers, depending on the battery size.
01:39Online users praise the driving dynamics and agile handling in city traffic.
01:43Those who prefer a sportier approach can opt for the twin-motor performance version with all-wheel drive, a whopping 482 horsepower,
01:52and acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds of value otherwise more commonly found in the performance segment.
02:01When charging, the X30 supports direct current with up to 134 or 153 kilowatts and alternating current with 11 or 22 kilowatts.
02:10Inside, Volvo has opted for reduction.
02:14A 12.3-inch screen in the center handles all displays and functions.
02:19The system is based on Google Automotive, which users say makes for intuitive operation.
02:25Less pleasing, however, is the lack of a separate driver display, which can be distracting in everyday driving.
02:31In terms of storage space, the Volvo X30 offers approximately 320 liters of trunk space,
02:38which can be expanded to around 1,000 liters by folding down the rear seats.
02:42This space is complemented by a small front compartment with a capacity of approximately 7 liters, ideal for charging cables.
02:49The Kia EV3 is slightly longer at approximately 4.3 meters and follows the brand's own design language, opposites United.
02:59Clean lines, a Y-shaped light design at the front, and striking wheel arches give the vehicle a progressive appearance.
03:07Particularly striking is the rear end with a steeply raked windshield and a distinctive spoiler, which gives the EV3 a sporty appearance.
03:15The Kia EV3 is powered by a 204-horsepower electric motor on the front axle.
03:22Two battery options are also available.
03:24It's smooth and comfortable driving behavior, which is particularly impressive on longer journeys.
03:31Charging is standard with 11 kilowatts using alternating current.
03:35An optional upgrade to 22 kilowatts will be available in the future.
03:39Up to 135 kilowatts is possible with direct current, which promises fast charging times.
03:45The interior of the EV3 is closely aligned with the larger EV9 model.
03:51Three displays, two 12.3-inch and another 5-inch, offer the driver comprehensive information and control options.
03:59Particularly innovative is the integration of Chad GPT and the ability to use apps such as Netflix or Spotify directly in the vehicle.
04:07The materials used, which are predominantly made from recycled materials, also underscore the sustainability claim.
04:15The trunk is generously dimensioned with a volume of around 460 L and can be expanded to approximately 1250 L by folding down the trunk.
04:26An additional 25-liter front trunk offers additional storage space.
04:30Prices for the Volvo X30 currently start at just under €40,000 in Germany for the base version with a 51-kilowatt-hour battery.
04:41Those opting for the cross-country variant with the powerful twin-motor drive can expect to pay around €57,000.
04:48The Kia EV3, in its base version with an 815.3-kilowatt-hour battery, starts at around €36,000, thus offering an attractive entry-level price in this segment.
