00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today, we're all about the Pebble 2.0, an innovative pedal electric velomobile that was developed specifically for urban traffic.
00:13In times of increasingly densely populated city centers, micromobility is becoming increasingly important,
00:19and the PB2.0 cleverly combines the advantages of an e-bike with the comfort of a small car.
00:25The vehicle is designed as a three-wheeled tatpole trike.
00:30and has a fully enclosed cabin that offers protection from wind and weather.
00:34It combines the agility of a bicycle with the stability and storage space of a car.
00:41It was developed by the U.S. company Better Bike from Massachusetts, which began developing the first pay back in 2013.
00:48The new version 2.0 has been extensively optimized.
00:53The aluminum frame made of 61 alloy ensures stability, while the revised body made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic has been aerodynamically improved.
01:05The curved polycarbonate windshield now extends further around the sides, offering better visibility and protection.
01:11The interior is upholstered in fabric.
01:14Optional zippered vinyl doors are also available to make the vehicle usable all year round.
01:21There is a lockable storage compartment in the back that offers ample space for daily shopping.
01:27The Pibble 2.0 has all-round suspension and is equipped with 4-inch wide tires, which ensures a comfortable ride on uneven roads.
01:37Other features include Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes at the front and rear, an electric reverse function cruise control, adjustable side mirrors, and LED lighting.
01:49The Velomobile is powered by a 750-watt rear motor, which can reach a speed of up to 32 kilometers per hour.
02:01If you also want to use the vehicle off-road, the motor can be upgraded to 1,500 watts.
02:08The energy is supplied by a 48-volt lithium-ion battery with 1,000 watt-hours, which is sufficient for a range of up to 80 kilometers.
02:17The range can be doubled with a second optional battery.
02:21A 100-watt solar panel can also be mounted on the roof to charge the battery while driving.
02:29At 2.5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, the PBL 2.0 remains compact but still offers space for two people, with the ball driver sitting behind the driver similar to a motorcycle.
02:44The permissible total weight is 147 kilograms, which means that the driver, passenger, and luggage can be transported without any problems.
02:52Additional equipment can be added on request.
02:56This includes a 600-watt cabin heater, additional power connections, a ventilated seat cushion, a parking brake, and carbon fiber controls.
03:05Better Bike offers three versions of the PB 2.0, the Standard, the PB 2.0 Plus, and the Lifestyle model.
03:14The basic version starts at around 9,900 euros, while the Lifestyle version with a 160-kilometer battery, solar panel, carbon dashboard, and a breathable seat cushion costs around euro 11,900 euro.
03:29Deliveries are set to begin in the summer.
03:32Although the PB 2.0 is not a complete replacement for a car, it is an attractive solution for everyday short distances such as commuting to work, shopping, or school.
03:43It offers a weatherproof alternative to an e-bike while remaining small and agile enough to navigate the city without any problems.
03:52Since the vehicle is legally considered an e-bike, neither a driver's license, registration, nor insurance is required.
03:59In addition, it can also be ridden on cycle paths in many areas, which reduces traffic jams and protects the environment.
04:06As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
