00:20While North America has always been known for producing impressive motorhomes, I've been looking at models from other countries lately.
00:26One that particularly caught my eye is the Sprite Compact from England.
00:34A two-person camper that offers everything you need for a comfortable life on the road without having to spend all your money.
00:43Ladies and gentlemen, nature lovers and adventurers, before us is the Sprite Compact from Swift, one of the largest and most respected manufacturers of caravans, campers and motorhomes in the UK.
00:56Before we go into more detail, I'd like to point out that this British model is currently on sale for just €21,900, which is roughly $27,500 based on current exchange rates.
01:13Some readers might argue that this is too much for a two-person camper.
01:17But I urge you to consider the entire range before making a final judgment.
01:25The Sprite Compact is an evolution of Swift's existing travel trailer, the Sprite, which we've covered in detail before.
01:35While the larger models can accommodate up to six people, the Compact is designed for the most intimate groups without compromising on comfort and functionality.
01:43Like its larger siblings, each Compact is built with a wood-free, fully composite frame, a polystyrene core for soundproofing and thermal insulation,
01:57and a GRP outer shell that protects the interior from the elements and ensures a watertight construction.
02:02The roofs and floors are also made of GRP.
02:09All of this is mounted on a galvanized steel chassis with a single axle and aluminium wheels, which forms the foundation of the Compact.
02:18Additionally, a bike rack can be attached to the frame of the Compact, further expanding the possibilities for outdoor adventures.
02:24Let's imagine that you and your partner have decided to leave the family home for a while and leave the kids with the grandparents.
02:35Maybe you don't have kids, which adds to the peace of your vacation.
02:41Once you've reached your destination, park your Compact, stabilize it, unhook your truck or SUV, and start setting up your campsite.
02:49This includes unloading your e-bikes, extending an awning if you have one, and stowing any other gear you brought with you.
03:00At this point, you can access the integrated front storage compartment, and if you're at a park, you can plug into the power grid.
03:09However, if you decide to live off-grid, there are plenty of options to make that happen.
03:14Ask your dealer about adding rooftop solar panels.
03:22Since the battery capacity is empty by default, you can add the capacity that best suits your needs.
03:30Also consider a portable battery bank and additional solar panels if you plan on living off-grid for more than a few days.
03:36Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information on the water capacity of each unit on Swift's website.
03:46While the Compact works its magic in the background, let's take a look inside to see what else is on offer for this price.
03:55As Swift is a British brand, the unit is entered from the left side.
03:58Upon entering, the wall-equipped kitchen block is located on the right side, towards the rear, while the rear area and part of the starboard wall are reserved for a fully-equipped bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower.
04:17Near the door, there is another worktop above the refrigerator.
04:20This area could be used as additional work surface for a TV or even as a handy little workstation.
04:30Note the storage compartments above and the microwave.
04:34The rest of the space in the compact is designed as a large flex area.
04:39Here, two sofas facing each other transform into an S-shaped area or lounge by day, and an east-west-facing bed by night.
04:46LED lights illuminate the edges of the upper storage compartments, as do spotlights.
04:55My personal favorite feature of this area are the huge windows that line three walls around the bed or dining area.
05:04Imagine entertaining guests and friends you meet on your travels against a backdrop of greenery, and waking up in the morning to the same picturesque surroundings.
05:11A glance out the window welcomes the world in with open arms.
05:19Wildlife roams around you, the sun rises on the horizon, and birds chirp in the nearby trees.
05:27All this, and a price that is clearly hard to beat, are the reasons why the compact has been winning numerous awards one after the other.
05:34It won the owner satisfaction awards for 2023, was named best caravan under 30,000 euros, was named best two-person caravan, and several other accolades.
05:52It even managed to pick up another award in 2024, which clearly shows that Swift is continuously focusing on the quality and innovation of their Sprite compact.
