00:00Welcome to the video of the Car Magazine Tuning Blog, where today we will be focusing on the

00:10Acura TLX Type S. This sporty sedan from Honda subsidiary Acura brings a lot of momentum to

00:17the premium segment with a powerful Turbo V6, but only on the US market. The TLX Type S has

00:25been available there since 2021 and represents a welcome return of the Type S performance variants,

00:30which have finally been relaunched after a 13-year absence.

00:36With a price of around €44,000 as a base model at market launch, the TLX Type S is an extremely

00:42interesting option, especially for lovers of dynamic driving performance and exclusive designs.

00:47At the heart of the Acura TLX Type S is a 3-liter V6 turbo gasoline engine that produces a whopping

00:55355 horsepower and delivers a maximum torque of 480 Nm. This power is transmitted to all four

01:04wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission, with the intelligent all-wheel drive with

01:09torque vectoring ensuring optimum traction and driving dynamics.

01:12To further enhance the driving experience, sporty-tuned springs and dampers have been installed,

01:20while reinforced Brembo brakes and an exhaust system with flap control provide the necessary

01:24deceleration and the right sound. The overall package is rounded off with 20-inch wheels fitted

01:32with 255-size tires. The design of the TLX Type S is characterized by its elegant and dynamic lines,

01:44which were already apparent in the Acura Type S concept from 2019. The long, contoured hood flows

01:50smoothly into the flat windshield, while the coupe-like roofline ends in a short rear apron,

01:54which is equipped with a carbon spoiler lip. The rear doors integrate seamlessly into the overall

02:04picture and appear almost invisible, which gives the vehicle a particularly stylish and sporty

02:09appearance. At the front, the TLX Type S shows off the striking Acura grille, flanked by large air

02:17intakes and extremely flat LED headlights. The rear is dominated by wide LED lights with a distinctive

02:25kink and four impressive exhaust tailpipes embedded in a carbon diffuser. Small air outlets echo the

02:32design of the front and create a harmonious connection between the ends of the vehicle.

02:38The side profile also impresses with a crease that rises towards the rear and pronounced indentations

02:43above the tailpipes, which give the car a particularly dynamic appearance.

02:50A highlight of the Acura Type S concept, which strongly inspired the production version,

02:55are the 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. Behind them, yellow-painted Brembo brake calipers emerge,

03:04which underline the sporty character of the vehicle. Unfortunately, Acura did not bring the TLX Type S

03:11to Germany, which is regrettable for many European car fans, as this model is very appealing both

03:16visually and technically. Overall, with the TLX Type S, Honda has an extremely attractive vehicle

03:24in its portfolio that more than makes up for the brand's late entry into the four-door coupe category.

03:37the TLX Type S an exciting option, at least for the U.S. model, and all at a price that is

03:42remarkably affordable for the performance and features on offer.
