00:24is attracting everyone's attention and causing quite a stir in the automotive world.
00:28The MG EX-81 is an electric hypercar that impresses with its technical specifications alone.
00:36With four electric motors and acceleration from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 1.9 seconds,
00:43this car promises performance that seems almost surreal.
00:48Although it is probably not seen as a direct competitor to the Remarque Navarra,
00:51it is aiming for a completely different goal, a land speed record on a salt lake.
00:58The MGE-101 was presented as a study at the Autoshina in Beijing, and its design alone shows
01:04that this is a pure high-speed vehicle. The car is not designed for everyday use,
01:12but for maximum aerodynamics and speed. With an extremely sleek, low body and an impressive
01:19drag coefficient of just 0.81, it could almost be described as a work of art on wheels.
01:24For comparison, the Mercedes EQS, which is considered to be very streamlined,
01:31has a CD value of 0.20 and the VW XL1, a real lightweight, is at 0.99.
01:39The MGE-X-181 undercuts these values even further, clearly showing that it was designed
01:45for top performance. Another striking feature of the MG CE-81 is its single-seat design,
01:52which is located in a central cockpit. The entire cockpit is glazed and a vertical tail fin protrudes
02:00behind the driver's seat, which presumably helps to keep the car stable on course at extreme speeds.
02:07In addition to the design, there are also exciting technical details. Braking is apparently provided
02:13by special plates that act as air brakes, as well as two brake parachutes. A pretty crazy solution,
02:19which is probably necessary for the extreme speeds on the salt lake.
02:24The interior is minimalistic yet futuristic.
02:29The steering wheel with a line for alignment looks almost like something out of a spaceship,
02:33and an integrated touchscreen controls the most important functions.
02:38Four motors drive the car, one for each wheel.
02:41The enormous acceleration, which takes it to 100 km per hour in less than 2 seconds,
02:48indicates a performance that can compete with other high-performance vehicles.
02:54By comparison, the RIMR Navarra requires 140 kW for a similar acceleration,
03:00and the Asparco, which only needs 1.7 seconds for the sprint, also has an impressive 1,480 kW.
03:06There is also exciting news in terms of top speed.
03:14A post on Veebo that speaks of over 410 km per hour even received a like from MG itself.
03:21This shows that this record is not just speculation, but is definitely within the realm of possibility.
03:26An allusion to MG's historical successes is also obvious here.
03:33The MG EXC81 is inspired by the EX181 with which Sterling Moss set a speed record of almost 380 km per hour
03:42on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the late 1950s.
03:45At that time, this car was powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 280 hp and, like today's model, only had one seat in the middle.
03:58Despite all its fascination, the MG EXC81 will probably never become a production vehicle.
04:03Rather, it is a project that is intended to strengthen MG's brand image by recalling past records
04:11and at the same time showing that the brand is also at the forefront of electromobility.
