00:00First thing you'll notice on the Performance version of this car is that the front face
00:05is different.
00:06And you can see the ducts on the side here where we take the air from the front of the
00:09car and really ducked it around the wheel.
00:11And it's a different splitter across the front too.
00:13So that helps with the downforce and the overall lift balance of the car.
00:17On the rear of the car, we added a spoiler and we improved the rear diffuser and it's
00:21a carbon fiber splitter.
00:24And you can also see the details here where we want downforce in the center of the car
00:27but then we want range and aero efficiency.
00:30We have this little notch here.
00:31Maybe it's a detail that someone would think it's just a styling cube, but it's actually
00:35a performance element to the spoiler.
00:40So let's check out the interior.
00:41This is where there's a lot of change um for the Performance version.
00:45And I think the first thing to notice is the seat.
00:48The new seat is supporting me now.
00:50I can really go for the corner.
00:52And look how the car goes over this ridge.
00:54We literally fly through.
00:58It grips you right here in the thighs and the hips.
01:01Really comfortable for everyday driving.
01:05As well, we have these new forged wheels.
01:07Not only decrease the mass to keep the overall vehicle mass down, but they also have a little
01:11bit more stiffness which allows for tighter turn and feel.
01:14They also come integrated with these aero caps here.
01:17These also work with unique front and rear faces that we have on the car to move the
01:21air around these larger wheels and tires.
01:23And this is where we're balancing vehicle driving and vehicle handling and also the range and
01:27efficiency of the car.
01:28We've also got an upgraded brake pad to take higher thermal loads and perform better.
01:32And we have a new steering knuckle for the Performance car that has a slightly shorter
01:36steering arm which decreases the overall steering ratio making it a little bit quicker.
01:39And then we have brand new adaptive damping system.
01:42First time ever on Model 3 with an active valve here that adjusts dynamically as you're
01:46driving the car.
01:47The tires are engineered with Rally US to be quieter, more efficient, have higher grip and better
01:52performance laterally.
01:53All new drive unit here for the Model 3 Performance.
01:56We also have a new inverter here and we have precision ground gears to increase efficiency
02:00as well as a lower friction oil in there that we call KAF Kick-Ass Fluid.
02:04Um in order to get all of the performance out of all this together.
02:08Now we're getting new drive units.
02:09You're getting new suspension.
02:10Getting adapted damping.
02:11You have new seats in the car that are more supportive for spirited driving.
02:15So, we were able to do all that while also improving the comfort.
02:18It's really kind of a car that can do both things.
02:23Feels hard to remove the car still.
