00:00Welcome to the new video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about the upcoming Audi Q9,
00:06the possible new flagship among luxury SUVs from Ingolstadt
00:10and a direct competitor to the BMW X7.
00:14First of all, the images shown are only renderings by Nikita Chuiko,
00:19i.e. not officially confirmed photos,
00:21but merely digital drafts based on previously known information.
00:24The Audi Q9 will be positioned above the Q7 and Q8
00:30and is clearly aimed at a customer who values size, comfort, and technology.
00:36Audi has been working in the background on this model for over a year,
00:40which is intended to be in the same league as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the BMW X7.
00:46The Q9 will be larger than the Q7,
00:49with a softer, more elegant design and significantly curvier lines.
00:54Particularly striking is the split headlight design
00:58with narrow LED daytime running lights directly under the hood
01:01and the main headlights below.
01:04A black grille and additional air intakes in the lower section of the front bumper
01:09are also part of the design, which was visualized by Kalesa.
01:14On the side, the renderings show glossy black wheel arch liners
01:18and flush-mounted touch-sensitive door handles.
01:21It is similar to the Ford Mustang.
01:25The rear fenders are soft and flowing,
01:28giving the vehicle a more elegant appearance than the more angular BMW X7.
01:34According to the renderings,
01:36the city cars on display will fit wheel sizes between 21 and 23 inches.
01:41At the rear, there are taillights that are strongly reminiscent
01:43of those of the new Audi A6 Avant,
01:46including a narrow, continuous LED light strip.
01:48The rear bumper is glossy black and features striking reflectors.
01:56Inside, passengers are greeted by a fully digital cockpit
01:59with Audi's latest MMI system.
02:02The driver receives two screens,
02:04and a separate screen for the front passenger will be available as an option.
02:08This technological focus is also expected to extend to the second row of seats.
02:14There will also be a third row of seats,
02:16making the Q9 a full-fledged seven-seater.
02:21Technically, the Q9 is expected to be based on the Volkswagen Group's premium combustion platform,
02:27a modular architecture already used in several Audi models.
02:30This platform allows for the use of various drivetrains, gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrids.
02:38Both two-liter four-cylinder engines and larger six-cylinder units are possible.
02:44Which engines will ultimately be offered is still unclear.
02:48However, it is conceivable that Audi will focus on the more powerful V6.
02:52A sportier SQ9 model, like the SQ7,
02:57is likely to feature a four-liter FAU 8-bit turbo,
03:00delivering around 500 horsepower and around 770 newm of torque.
03:05Even an even more powerful RS Q9 is not currently ruled out.
03:10Audi has not yet officially confirmed the Q9 model or announced a date for its unveiling.
03:17Everything known so far is based on unofficial information and speculation,
03:21and of course, the renderings, which are likely to be very close to the current status.
03:28As always, you'll find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
