00:00In Colombia, criticism, questioning and rejection are growing in response to the
00:04advocacy of violence in social media by sectors that are linked to the country's right wing
00:10during a pre-election period.
00:14Laura Gallego in Colombia has become visible in recent days and during the pre-election
00:21period due to her recent social media content, which lacks moral limits, and whose plurality
00:27of content goes beyond excesses, making a clear justification for violence against the current
00:32president and a political pre-candidate.
00:57Social media content that glorifies crime and violence, violence that, in Colombia, is
01:04linked to paramilitary groups and has left thousands of victims stigmatized and murdered is an expression
01:09of the drug trafficking and mafia culture in Colombia, associated with certain sectors
01:14of the country, according to analysts.
01:17What this woman represents are those interests linked to that conservatism, but tied to the
01:23logic of the landowning, paramilitary, drug trafficking groups, where any difference is resolved with
01:28bullets.
01:29They have been in power for several decades, it is documented, and this is a cultural expression
01:38of the political, economic, social, and of course, military domination.
01:42She feels supported by the dominant sectors, that is why she expresses herself time and time
01:46again.
01:47Laura Gallego has been awarded employment contracts with some council members belonging to the right-wing
01:58political party Democratic Center in Mid-Ellen, the capital of Antioquia.
02:02She conducted interviews with some prominent figures of this party, taking advantage of
02:07her close relationship with them, and issuing these kinds of judgments and expressions through
02:11her social media accounts.
02:13For analysts and some influencers, this attitude is highly reprehensible, and should be met with
02:18social sanction, not censorship, but punishment.
02:26I believe the sanction should come from those of us on social media.
02:30If you see this kind of behavior, it's clearly negative and must be rejected, but not to
02:34end our freedom of expression, to allow everyone to do and say whatever they want.
02:38I think there are very clear limits in the law that reach up to slander and libel.
02:41Beyond that, we should debate whether it should be allowed or not.
02:44We shouldn't censor, but we should reject and at least socially punish those who create
02:48that kind of content.
02:50At least socially, to the people who do that kind of content.
02:53Who is the most false politician of Colombia?
02:56Gallegos, after these strong agravies?
02:58After these strong offenses, Laura received a rejection from the organization of the National
03:03Beauty Contest in Colombia, to which she aspired to be a candidate for the Department of Antioquia,
03:08since its participants cannot issue statements related to politics, clarifying that they respect
03:13the institution.
03:14In addition to the criticism of Laura, and the questioning of her expressions and calls,
03:19she could face criminal charges.
