00:00In Colombia, criticism, questioning and rejection are growing in response to the advocacy of violence on social media
00:06by sectors linked to the country's right win during a pre-election period. Let's see.
00:13Laura Gallego in Colombia has become visible in recent days and during the pre-election period
00:21due to her recent social media content, which lacks moral limits and whose plurality of content goes beyond excesses,
00:28making a clear justification for violence against the current president and a political pre-candidate.
00:36In the desert, you have a gun with one bullet. They let you run for Petro and Daniel Quintero.
00:42Who do you shoot? A shot for Petro, at least. Bullet for Petro or for Daniel Quintero.
00:50No, hombre. Esos tipos no valen ni una bala. Que les caiga la justicia.
00:54A Petro le suspendieron la visa americana.
00:56Un contenido en redes sociales que...
00:57Social media content that glorifies crime and violence.
01:01Violence that, in Colombia, is linked to paramilitary groups and has left thousands of victims stigmatized
01:07and murdered is an expression of the drug trafficking and mafia culture in Colombia
01:11associated with certain sectors of the country, according to analysts.
01:15What this woman represents are those interests linked to that conservatism,
01:22but tied to the logic of the landowning, paramilitary, drug trafficking groups,
01:26where any difference is resolved with bullets.
01:27Donde se resuelve con bala cualquier diferencia.
01:30Ellos llevan en el poder varias décadas. Eso está...
01:33They have been in power for several decades. It is documented.
01:35And this is a cultural expression of the political, economic, social, and, of course, military domination.
01:40She feels supported by the dominant sectors. That is why she expresses herself time and time again.
01:47Laura Gallego has been awarded employment contracts with some council members
01:56belonging to the right-wing political party Democratic Center in Mid-Ellen, the capital of Antioquia.
02:01She conducted interviews with some prominent figures of this party,
02:04taking advantage of her close relationship with them,
02:07and issuing these kinds of judgments and expressions through her social media accounts.
02:12For analysts and some influencers, this attitude is highly reprehensible
02:15and should be met with social sanction, not censorship, but punishment.
02:25I believe the sanction should come from those of us on social media.
02:28If you see this kind of behavior, it's clearly negative and must be rejected.
02:32But not to end our freedom of expression, to allow everyone to do and say whatever they want.
02:36I think there are very clear limits in the law that reach up to slander and libel.
02:40Beyond that, we should debate whether it should be allowed or not.
02:43We shouldn't censor, but we should reject and at least socially punish those who create that kind of content.
02:47After these strong offenses, Laura received a rejection from the organization of the National Beauty Contest in Colombia,
03:03to which she aspired to be a candidate for the Department of Antioquia,
03:07since its participants cannot issue statements related to politics,
03:11clarifying that they respect the institution.
03:13In addition to the criticism of Laura and the questioning of her expressions and calls,
03:18she could face criminal charges.
03:19In other words, Hernán Darío Tobar, Gaitán Telesur, Bogotá, Colombia.
