00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog on the topic of MST Car's Ford Escort RSM K1.
00:12As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:18The Ford Escort RSM K1 is making a comeback.
00:22However, it is not from Ford itself, but from the British company MST Cars.
00:26This company specializes in the construction and restoration of classic motorsport icons.
00:33Now it is launching a new interpretation of the Escort MK1 Evo onto the market.
00:39What makes it special is that the car is based on a Group 4 rally car and is completely rebuilt.
00:46The body of the Escort RSM K1 is handmade in Great Britain, while add-on parts such as the mudguards and spoiler are made of carbon.
00:56The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of over 200 horsepower.
01:04The torque is transmitted to the rear wheels via a close-ratio manual transmission and an atlas with a limited slip differential.
01:12Alternatively, a 2.8-liter Millington Diamond engine with around 360 horsepower is available, which can be combined with a sequential manual transmission.
01:20A high-quality coilover suspension from ATP ensures optimum handling.
01:28The rear axle is equipped with independent suspension, which was tuned by rally legend Colin McRae.
01:34Those who prefer something even more modern can opt for electronic chassis control from Tractive.
01:40The braking system consists of AP brakes with six piston calipers on the front axle and four piston calipers on the rear axle.
01:48To ensure that the Escort RSM K1 impresses on the rally track, a limited slip differential on the rear axle is standard equipment.
01:56Precise handling is ensured by 17-inch wheels with an 8-inch width on the front axle, supported by electric power steering.
02:059.5-inch wide 17-inch wheels are mounted on the rear axle.
02:11The MSTM K1 Evo can be approved for road use in Great Britain.
02:14Another highlight is the vehicle's customization options.
02:20Customers can not only choose the paint finish, but also add extras such as leather upholstery, sports headlights and rally mudguards.
02:28The price for the newly built Escort RSM K1 starts at €215,000.
02:33MST Cars plans to produce around 12 vehicles per year and is currently allocating production slots for the year 2025.
02:43The combination of classic rally charm, modern technology and impressive performance makes the Escort RSM K1 a real highlight for fans of historic motorsport icons.
