00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog on the topic of the Aston Martin Signet V8.
00:20As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:25The Aston Martin Signet V8 is a unique one-off that the British brand built to special customer request.
00:34This brutal vehicle was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2018 and it is definitely worth taking a look at this extraordinary project.
00:44At just 3.8 meters long, the Signet was actually intended as a compact city car.
00:50But Aston Martin has given it a completely new character.
00:53Instead of the standard 1.3 L4 cylinder, the 4.7 LV8 from the VCHS was installed.
01:01The result is an output of 436 horsepower, which catapults the small car to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.2 seconds.
01:10The top speed is an impressive 275 kilometers per hour.
01:16Values that would otherwise be unthinkable in this vehicle class.
01:19But it's not just the engine that comes from the Vantage S.
01:22The brakes, cooling system, electronics and transmission were also adopted.
01:27The conversion was a real challenge, because the Sign barely offers any space for such a massive engine.
01:33The available space was so tight that only a 30-liter tank could be installed, which reduced the range to a minimum.
01:43Whether the wide-code wings were only necessary for larger tires or whether the V8 simply had to move outwards remains unclear.
01:50What is certain, however, is that the Signet V8 looks like a tiny muscle car on steroids.
01:59Series production was not planned from the start, because the regular sign was discontinued in 2013.
02:04But with this project, Aston Martin impressively demonstrates what is possible with the Aston Martin customization program.
02:14There should also be more crazy one-offs created to customer specifications in the future.
