01:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
01:26Today, it's all about the Aston Martin Vary, which has raised the bar for road-legal vehicles at the Silverstone Circuit with an impressive performance.
01:36With a record time of 2,562 minutes on the Grand Prix version of the track, the Valkyrie beat the previous record holder, the Manthe Racing 911 GT2 rupees, by a whopping 10 seconds.
01:48Other impressive vehicles such as the current-generation Porsche 911 GT3 rupees and the limited-edition McLaren Center also had to admit defeat.
01:59The Valkyrie was 1.5 and 2.5 seconds faster, respectively.
02:04However, the Vary is no ordinary car.
02:07Originally developed under the codename Nebula, it is the result of a collaboration between Aston Martin, Red Bull, and legendary engineer Adrian Newey.
02:19Equipped with a Cosworth-developed 6.5-liter V12 engine that can reach an incredible 11,100 revolutions per minute and a care system.
02:27Kinetic energy recovery delivers an impressive 1,140 horsepower to the road, while the maximum torque of 925 newton-meters ensures acceleration that will amaze even experienced drivers.
02:44The extraordinary technology is controlled by a motorsport-like removable steering wheel, which requires a multi-step start sequence.
02:52An experience reminiscent of preparing a racing car for the start.
02:57From the outside, the Vary impresses with its innovative aerodynamics.
03:02Underbody Venturi channels and the elimination of classic side mirrors in favor of cameras significantly improve the airflow profile.
03:11The unique design of the Valkyrie, from the gullwing doors of the coupe to the butterfly doors of the Spyder, shows that Aston Martin not only values performance, but also design.
03:22For true racing fans, the manufacturer offers the Xtreme Amour Pro version, which is limited to just 25 units and was developed exclusively for the racetrack.
03:33However, the performance on the track would not have been possible without the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and experienced racing driver Darren Turner.
03:44Turner, who has been driving for Aston Martin since 2005, has already achieved three class victories at the LEM 24 hours and demonstrated his full skills at the wheel of the walker.
03:55Despite this impressive performance, the Vary still lags behind the lap times of a Formula 1 car.
04:04By comparison, Max Verstappen needed 27 seconds for a lap of Silverstone in the Airbutt in 2020.
04:12And the fastest lap of the 2024 season by Carlos Saints Jr. in the Ferrari SF24 was 128 minutes.
04:19Overall, the Aston Martin Walkery is a technical masterpiece that redefines the limits of what is possible for road-legal vehicles.
