00:00Hello and welcome to the tuning blog video on the topic of WhiteCoffee01.
00:12Today we will introduce you to the new plug-in hybrid SUV from the Chinese manufacturer Wohr,
00:18which is coming to the German market with impressive technical data,
00:22a wide range of features and an attractive price-performance ratio.
00:25Chinese car brands are becoming increasingly present on European roads and,
00:30in addition to names such as I-Ways, BYD and NIO,
00:34Great Wall Motor GVM is now also bringing its Wee brand to Germany.
00:39With the Coffee One, Wohr presents an SUV that impresses not only with its size,
00:44but above all with its inner values.
00:47The White Coffee No One measures an impressive 4.87 meters in length and is therefore positioned
00:52between mid-size and luxury SUVs, comparable in size to a Kia Sorento.
00:58But what really sets it apart from the crowd is its exceptionally large high-capacity battery
01:03with a capacity of 39.7 kWh.
01:07For comparison, the Mercedes GLE 350D, which is already known for its large plug-in battery,
01:13has 31.2 kW.
01:15Thanks to this battery, WI claims an impressive electric range of 146 kilometers according to WLTP.
01:24Another highlight is the ability to charge the battery via a DC charging port with up to 50 kW.
01:31This is not a given for plug-in hybrids and allows the large battery to be recharged in a short time.
01:36Under the hood is a Miller Cycle turbocharged petrol engine,
01:42which is combined with an electric motor and a new gear dual-clutch transmission.
01:48Particularly noteworthy is that the rear axle is driven by an additional electric motor with a two-speed transmission.
01:55This concept not only enables stronger acceleration, but also higher speeds and pure electric mode.
02:01The engineers that we speak of over 200 kilometers per hour that can be achieved with gentle acceleration.
02:09In practice, the Coffee 01 accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in electric mode in just over 7 seconds.
02:18For a plug-in hybrid of this size, that is impressive.
02:24However, if you press the accelerator pedal all the way down,
02:27the combustion engine automatically switches on to provide maximum power for overtaking or sudden acceleration.
02:36This function makes sense for safety reasons, but could be fine-tuned.
02:40The total system output of the Wild Coffee Note 1 is an impressive 476 horsepower.
02:46The electric motors produce 120 kW and 135 kW,
02:51while the petrol engine contributes 204 horsepower to the total output.
02:54The system torque of 847 newtons of torque ensures powerful propulsion.
03:00In hybrid mode, the Caffeine 1 accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.0 seconds
03:07and reaches a top speed of 235 kilometers per hour.
03:12Despite these impressive figures, acceleration in sport mode does not always feel as powerful as one might expect.
03:19Occasionally, the system takes a moment to provide full power, especially during abrupt acceleration.
03:28The transmission usually operates smoothly and unobtrusively in everyday use.
03:32However, slight jerks can occur under high load.
03:35The shift paddles on the steering wheel react with a delay,
03:39which makes them less suitable for dynamic driving.
03:41In terms of driving dynamics, the weight of around 2.4 tons is noticeable.
03:47The chassis with passive shock absorbers and steel springs is clearly designed for comfort,
03:52which is at the expense of sportiness.
03:54It lacks precision in curves and the steering offers little feedback.
03:59In addition, the recessed grips behind the steering wheel controls are ergonomically suboptimal,
04:05which is noticeable at larger steering angles.
04:07The Kofianone one, on the other hand, scores with high driving comfort.
04:12The chassis usually smooths out unevenness with ease and the body movements generally remain moderate.
04:19However, the vehicle can occasionally tend to rock on bumpy roads.
04:23The seats are comfortably padded and offer good support,
04:27even if the basic model lacks adjustable lumbar support.
04:30The interior is of high quality and impresses with attractive materials.
04:36The dashboard looks classy, even if slight vibrations are occasionally noticeable.
04:42The noise insulation is good overall.
04:45Only the tire noise penetrates the interior a little more clearly.
04:49The infotainment system is operated via a 14.6-inch touchscreen that responds quickly to inputs.
04:55The menus are logically structured, but operation requires attention,
05:00as many important functions are hidden in submenus.
05:04There is no traditional climate control unit,
05:07so the temperature and fan speed have to be adjusted using two fingers,
05:11which can be distracting while driving.
05:13An interesting feature of the W-Coffianone one is the sensor system with camera mounted on the A-pillar,
05:21which monitors the driver and warns them if they are inattentive.
05:26If you look at the screen or the exterior mirror for too long,
05:29you will first hear a voice prompt, followed by a gentle tug on the seatbelt.
05:34This function can be deactivated if required.
05:37Regenerative braking can be set to three levels, but only via the infotainment menu.
05:45Even at the highest level, the vehicle does not decelerate sufficiently to enable one-wheel driving.
05:51A positive feature is the seamless transfer of recuperation to the mechanical brake,
05:57which enables smooth stopping.
05:58The Coffee One offers numerous assistance systems,
06:03including active lane guidance, which works reliably on motorways.
06:08On winding country roads, the system deactivates itself when the driver makes minor corrections,
06:14but reactivates shortly afterwards, accompanied by voice outputs.
06:18The adaptive cruise control can only be set in 5-hour-kilometer increments,
06:23which somewhat limits its precision.
06:24The extensive standard equipment includes matrix LED headlights,
06:3021-inch rims, a head-up display, and a high-quality sound system from Infiniti.
06:36Added to this is a DC charging port and various camera systems.
06:40With a starting price of €55,900, the Coffee Note 1 is attractively positioned.
06:45By comparison, a Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid is similarly priced,
06:50but offers less power and a significantly lower battery capacity of 30.8 kWh compared to the 39.7 kWh disc.
07:00In the Euro NCAP crash test, the Coffee Note 1 received 5 stars and impressed with a rating of 91%
07:07for occupant protection for adults and 87% for children.
07:10In the rear, passengers enjoy plenty of head, leg, and foot space,
07:17while the low height of the center tunnel offers additional comfort in the middle seat.
07:23Minor defects were identified during the test drives,
07:26including an unmotivated engine control symbol and a washer fluid system
07:30that only weakly reached the lower part of the windshield.
07:32Whether this is due to isolated cases or teething problems remains to be seen.
07:40Interested parties can experience the White Coffee O1 until the end of the first quarter of 2023
07:45in around 60 car dealerships of the Emil Freigroup.
07:49The vehicles are also serviced there.
07:52In conclusion, it can be said that the Wake Off 1 is an exciting new addition to the German car market.
07:57With its impressive electric range, extensive equipment, and attractive price,
08:04it offers an interesting alternative to established brands.
08:09It remains to be seen how it will establish itself in Germany.
