00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog, where we take a look at the Toyota Rufior Darkside Performance Concept.
00:16Toyota is preparing for the Tokyo Motor Show and is focusing on a futuristic and performance-oriented design with this new concept vehicle, which was not developed for off-road adventures, but for the road.
00:30The R is now in its fifth generation and has been on the market for six years, and is getting a facelift to reach younger target groups and combat the recent decline in sales figures.
00:43The new Darkside Performance version is not only visually but also technically revised, as an impressive teaser video shows.
00:50In a dystopian Neo City inspired by anime and gaming, the R4 is presented with black paintwork, wider wheel arches, redesigned bumpers and striking petrol-green accents.
01:03Particularly striking are the LED lights and the black rims with a centrally positioned RUF-V logo.
01:13A closed radiator grille with innovative graphics possibly indicates that this could be the first fully electric R.A.
01:19Should this be the case, Toyota would expand its electrification strategy, which has so far only included the BFR model BZ4X.
01:32Interestingly, Toyota has been hesitant to add further electric vehicles to its model range, despite being considered a pioneer in hybrid technology with the Prius back in 1997.
01:41The interior of the A4 Darkside Performance also follows the futuristic approach.
01:48A petrol-green strip of light runs across the entire dashboard.
01:53In the video, the concept car is driven at high speed through sci-fi-like streets, accompanied by drones that can barely keep up.
02:00These scenes suggest a performance upgrade, which clearly positions the new RAW offer as a performance crossover.
02:09Toyota is thus expanding its R4 range, which has so far been known primarily for its off-road models and a GR Sport version.
02:18In addition to the Darkside Performance version, Toyota will also present an outdoor lifestyle package for the A4.
02:24Although only a few details are known so far, the focus is said to be on wing extensions, a roof rack and probably all-terrain tires to make the vehicle fit for outdoor adventures.
02:36Both variants will be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show, which kicks off on January 10th at the Makuhari Mesa Convention Center in Tokyo.
02:46Toyota has not yet confirmed whether the concept vehicle will go into production later.
