00:00Welcome to the video from Car Magazine TuningBlock, where today we take a closer look at the Ghillie Cowboy.
00:13The Ghillie Cowboy is the latest variant of the well-known Ghillie Icon, which was presented at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show.
00:22With its robust body kit and off-road accessories, the Cowboy looks like a true adventure vehicle, even though it still only offers front-wheel drive.
00:30The small SUV is heavily based on the Ghillie Icon, which has been available since 2020, and has been upgraded with some striking changes.
00:41The new bumpers, the angular side protection, and the generous plastic cladding on the wheel arches are striking.
00:49A roof rack with integrated LED lights and special 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with all-terrain tires round off the off-road look.
00:56A surprise awaits at the rear.
01:01What at first glance looks like a spare tire container turns out to be storage space for wet or dirty items.
01:07There is also an accessory box mounted on the C-pillar.
01:11A design strongly reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender.
01:14The Cowboy is available in four colors, Snow White, Jungle Green, Volcano Gray, and Desert Brown.
01:22With a length of 4,442 mm, a width of 1,860 mm, and a height of 1,770 mm, the Cowboy is about as long as a Toyota Corolla Cross, but slightly taller thanks to the additional equipment on the roof.
01:37Inside, the Cowboy offers several differences compared to the gel Icon.
01:43In addition to an 8.8-inch digital cockpit, there is a 40.6-inch infotainment display positioned centrally in the dashboard.
01:52The beefy air vents are reminiscent of the design of the previous Icon model.
01:58Particularly practical is the total of 42 storage compartments in the interior.
02:02Under the hood is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo-gasoline engine that delivers 178 horsepower and 290 newm of torque.
02:13This power is transmitted exclusively to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
02:19A rather unusual concept for a vehicle with an off-road look.
02:24The platform on which the Cowboy is based is the Gilly B-Segment Modular Architecture BM.
02:29And now for the price.
02:33In China, the Gilly Cowboy starts at the equivalent of approximately 12,200 euros 95,901,
02:40making it cheaper than the Gilly Icon, which starts at around 12,300 euros 96.
