00:00Welcome to the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog video about the all-new 2025 Citroen iC3 Max in Cool Elixir Red.
00:15Today, we're taking you on an in-depth tour of this exciting and affordable electric car that Citroen recently unveiled.
00:22The Citroen C3 has been the brand's best-selling model since its launch in 2002, with over 5.6 million units sold worldwide.
00:33Now in its fourth generation, Citroen is presenting the iC3 Max, an electric car that shows that it's not just Chinese manufacturers who can build affordable electric vehicles.
00:44With a starting price of just over 23,000 euros, Citroen is making a clear statement in the market for affordable electric cars.
00:54Under the hood of the iC3 Max is a lithium ferrophosphate LFP battery with a capacity of 44 kWh.
01:02This battery enables a range of up to 320 kilometers according to the WLTP standard.
01:09That's more than enough for daily city traffic and medium-sized commuting distances.
01:14The battery is supplied by Svold, a subsidiary of the Chinese manufacturer Great Wall, which underlines the international cooperation in the automotive industry.
01:25The car is powered by an electric motor with an output of 83 kW, which corresponds to around 113 horsepower.
01:34The torque ensures a swift start.
01:36The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in around 11 seconds and the top speed is limited to 135 kilometers per hour.
01:47This is absolutely sufficient for city traffic and occasional motorway journeys.
01:52A special highlight of the iC3 Max is its fast charging capability.
01:56At a direct current charging station with an output of 100 kW, the battery can be charged from 20 to 80% in just 26 minutes.
02:06This means that longer journeys with short charging brakes are also possible.
02:12When charging at an alternating current charging station, Citroen offers a charging capacity of 7.4 kW as standard, which means a charging time of around 4 hours.
02:22For an additional charge of 400 euros, the charging capacity can be increased to 11 kW and the charging time reduced to 2 hours and 50 minutes.
02:32However, it is a bit of a shame that Citroen charges an additional charge for this, while other manufacturers often offer this as standard.
02:40The design of the iC3 Max is compact and modern.
02:45At 4.01 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, it offers ample space for passengers and luggage.
02:53The angular look gives the car a touch of SUV character without actually being an SUV.
03:00According to the manufacturer, the boot holds 310L, which is impressive for a small car.
03:05Inside, Citroen focuses on innovation and comfort.
03:10Instead of a classic instrument panel, there is a head-up display that projects all important vehicle information directly into the driver's field of vision.
03:20This system, which Citroen calls the CSUN Lounge, allows the driver to keep their eyes on the road without having to forego important information.
03:29The cockpit is complemented by a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the center console, which is wirelessly compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
03:38Instead, the basic version includes a practical smartphone holder that uses NFC technology to operate the phone via the steering wheel buttons.
03:48The advanced comfort seats are generously padded and offer excellent back support.
03:57They can be adjusted in height and length, so that every driver can find the optimal seating position.
04:02The steering wheel can also be adjusted in both height and depth and fits comfortably in the hand.
04:11Passengers in the rear seats are not neglected either.
04:15There is generous headroom, as the roof lining is recessed in the head area.
04:19Even people who are 1.80 meters tall have sufficient legroom.
04:25However, the legs are angled slightly more than in the petrol version due to the battery being installed in the vehicle floor.
04:32Here, the conventional C3 with a combustion engine offers a slight advantage in terms of seating comfort.
04:38In terms of ride comfort, Citroen relies on the advanced comfort suspension with progressive hydraulic stops.
04:47This system, a modern successor to the legendary hydropneumatics, ensures a particularly smooth ride.
04:56Bumps and potholes are effectively cushioned, making the IC3 Max an ideal companion for everyday urban use.
05:02Despite its short wheelbase of 2.50 meters, the car demonstrates stable and comfortable handling, both in the city and on country roads.
05:14On winding roads, it tends to move slightly, but always remains controllable.
05:20The IC3 Max comes in various equipment variants to cover different needs and budgets.
05:27Even the Basic U equipment offers a solid basic equipment with LED daytime running lights,
05:32the advanced comfort suspension, an active emergency braking system, a head-up display, rear parking sensors, cruise control, air conditioning, and six airbags.
05:43However, you have to do without some amenities here, such as the touchscreen or a split-folding rear seat bench.
05:49The higher-end plus package adds additional features to the basic equipment, such as LED headlights, a roof in a contrasting color,
05:59an infotainment system with a 10.20-inch screen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
06:07The rear seat bench can be folded down in two parts, which increases flexibility in everyday life.
06:12The top-of-the-range Max equipment also offers 17-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, automatic air conditioning, electric windows at the front and rear, and rear parking sensors.
06:24A total of five exterior colors are available, polar white, Monte Carlo blue, elixir red, mercury gray, and pearler NER black.
06:34Particularly interesting is the pastel blue-toned Monte Carlo, which already shone on the sheet metal of the legendary 2CV.
06:41Another important aspect is connectivity.
06:45Routes can be planned and the vehicle's charge status monitored using the new eRoutes app.
06:49The app makes it easier to plan journeys and helps to plan charging stops efficiently.
06:57The My Citroen app also allows you to manage charging plans and pre-condition the vehicle,
07:02so that the car is pleasantly warm in winter and nice and cool in summer before you get in.
07:09For those who are not yet ready to switch to electromobility,
07:13Citroen continues to offer the new C3 with combustion engines.
07:16A 1.2L three-cylinder turbo engine with 101hp and a 6-speed manual transmission is currently available.
07:26This starts at €14.99 and is therefore an extremely attractive option for price-conscious buyers.
07:34A 48-volt mild hybrid with 100hp and dual-clutch transmission is also set to follow at the end of 2024.
07:42The petrol engine also cuts a good figure in terms of driving characteristics.
07:46With a weight of around 1,200kg, it is around 300kg lighter than the electric version,
07:54which is noticeable in its more agile driving dynamics.
07:58The turbo engine pulls powerfully from low revs and offers a pleasant driving experience,
08:04both in the city and on country roads.
08:07When stationary, the engine is barely audible and even at higher revs,
08:11the interior noise level remains pleasant.
08:13Another plus point of the EC3 Max is its extensive safety features.
08:20In addition to the active emergency braking system,
08:23it has six airbags, rear parking sensors and cruise control.
08:27Additional assistance systems are added in the higher trim levels
08:30to make driving even safer and more comfortable.
08:33Citroën is also planning to offer an even more affordable basic version of the IC3
08:41with a range of around 200km from 2025.
08:45This is set to be available for a sensational €9,900,
08:49which should make electromobility affordable for even more people.
08:55Citroën is thus significantly undercutting the average price for electric vehicles in Europe,
09:00which is currently around €48,000.
09:04In conclusion, it can be said that the 2025 Citroën IC3 Max offers a convincing overall package.
09:14With its attractive price, solid range and extensive equipment,
09:18it could actually help to further advance electromobility in Germany.
09:22While other manufacturers are still hesitant to bring affordable electric cars to the market,
09:29Citroën is sending a clear signal and offering a real alternative for price-conscious buyers.
09:35We hope you enjoyed this detailed insight into the new Citroën IC3 Max.
