00:00The team to beat in the conference entering this weekend are the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
00:05They're dominating at the point of attack.
00:08Their quarterback, Haynes King, had another dynamic performance this weekend against Syracuse.
00:13The team opened as a 17-and-a-half point home favorite.
00:17The line got down to 16-and-a-half across multiple books.
00:20It did not matter.
00:22Georgia Tech stepped up with a dominating home win.
00:25They win it, Coach, 41-16.
00:27Haynes King throws for over 300 yards and three touchdowns.
00:32And the defense was very opportunistic, a complete effort in Atlanta this past weekend.
00:38Yeah, it was almost a perfect storm because you had Haynes King at his best responsible for five touchdowns.
00:44He also ran for 91 yards and had five total touchdowns.
00:47But you've got Syracuse that have not won a game since they lost their quarterback, Steve Angeli.
00:53Ricky Collins has not been able to get it done.
00:55They're 0-4, and their coach does it.
00:57He did a great job last year and was doing a great job this year.
01:01But it just goes to show you, well, when you don't have a quarterback, at times you won't have much of a team, he's really struggling right now.
01:07But Georgia Tech, all the credit goes to them.
01:10They poured it on.
01:12Haynes King had a great day, and they coasted to a victory in that game against Syracuse.
01:17Coach, another big matchup that we saw take place this weekend was the battle in Winston-Salem when you saw SMU and Wake Forest.
01:27You scratched your head a little bit.
01:29SMU opened as a three-and-a-half-point road favorite.
01:32We saw money come in on Wake Forest right before a kick.
01:36That line was about two-and-a-half in favor of the Mustangs.
01:39It was a close game entering the fourth quarter.
01:41SMU did have a 12-to-10 fourth-quarter lead, but Wake Forest found a way.
01:47They kick a game-winning field goal, and they steal it.
01:50This team is 5-2 overall, fighting for bowl contention.
01:54That was a quality win against the Mustangs on Saturday afternoon.
01:58Oh, I guarantee it was.
01:59And they're probably as much a surprise team with their new head coach as anybody in the conference finding a way to win.
02:06They got the ball back, and with the 12 seconds left, threw a 25-yard pass to get within field goal range.
02:11And then kicked a walk-off field goal to win the game against SMU, which I thought would be even more favored than they were at two-and-a-half.
02:20But, you know, it was an ugly game.
02:22Everything that could go wrong went wrong.
02:24There was eight turnovers, two missed field goals, a blocked PAT, 17 punts.
02:29There was no offense, hardly at all, in this game.
02:32But Wake Forest, give them credit.
02:34They held on, found a way to score at the end, and won the football game with their backup,
02:40or their second quarterback they've gone to now in Purdy, who came in to take place of Ashford.
