00:00It's the team to beat in the ACC is Georgia Tech. They get the victory on the road against Duke.
00:05They now come back home and face off against Fran Brown and Syracuse. Syracuse catching 10.5
00:12points against Pittsburgh. It was close maybe for a quarter. After that, Pitt ran away with it. They
00:18get their road win and cover against the Orange. Coach, right now on paper, it seems like Georgia
00:24Tech should dominate this matchup, but we're talking about 17.5 total points, maybe a potential
00:31letdown. I don't think there's any doubt Georgia Tech wins at home, but I'm going to take that 17.5
00:37with Fran Brown and the Orange in this matchup. Well, you've got a lot more confidence in Ricky
00:43Collins than Fran Brown does. He pretty much is at a loss for words. He says at the moment,
00:49he's our quarterback. They have gone nowhere since he's become the starting quarterback,
00:54especially in their last three games. Now that's 17.5. I'm not thrilled with that,
00:59but I just think the way Georgia Tech is playing, and I think Hanks King right now is on the way,
01:04possibly being the ACC player of the year, the way if he continues to play like he does,
01:09and I think Georgia Tech will be 11-0 going into that non-conference game against Georgia,
01:14but until Syracuse finds some answers at quarterback, they've done nothing. They've
01:20been outscored 99-34 in their last three conference games. Ricky Collins is just not the answer. You
01:27know, he kind of had it going when he first was up first of the season with Steve Angeli, but when
01:32he lost him for the year, they just haven't been able to found anything they could do offensively.
01:37Now, you're right, and I agree with you. You know, Syracuse not as consistent with Collins at the
01:42helm. He looks at times like deer in the headlights. He certainly looked like that
01:46against Duke, making his first career start after the win, and he came in in garbage time against
01:52Clemson, but when you just look at the breakdown last week, and maybe it was like a little bit of
01:58padding of stats, but Duke was able to throw for 373 yards on that Georgia Tech defense. What is the
02:05strength right now of Syracuse? It's certainly not running the football. They're only averaging 109 yards
02:12on the ground. This Syracuse offense is averaging 294 yards through the air. We talked about the game
02:18a couple of weeks ago against Virginia Tech, where Georgia Tech built an 18-0 first-half lead. We saw
02:25Kyron Drones move the football through the air, so I think when we look at this matchup again,
02:31where could Syracuse have success? I think it is in the passing attack. Maybe they sustained drives,
02:37score early, and we're not talking about a seven- or a ten-point number.
02:41We are almost talking three touchdowns. With the fact that they've knocked off Duke in such a big
02:46game, I'm willing to take a shot with the points. Again, not going to be easy, but the fact that
02:52you're giving me two touchdowns, a field goal, and a half, I'm willing to take a shot in that aspect.
02:57Here's the thing, and Ricky Collins has turned the ball over too much. He had three turnovers last week
03:04in their loss last week. Fran Brown has done a great job of developing quarterbacks. He knows
03:09how to put a passing inning together. To answer your question, just don't turn the ball over.
03:14I don't think they can get beat by 70-and-a-half if they just won't turn the ball over, but Ricky
03:19Collins has had a problem turning the ball over, and that's what's made Fran Brown so frustrating
03:24because he had three interceptions last week. I don't want to say he had six and seven for the year,
03:29so if Syracuse can keep from him throwing interceptions, you know Fran Brown's going to have a
03:35creative passing attack, and that's the one thing that can keep this game close.
