00:00But they went on the road last week, coach, only catching about five and a half points to the Georgia Bulldogs.
00:07It was close for about a quarter.
00:09After that, it was all Kirby Smart and Georgia's offense and defense.
00:13They put a beat down on the Longhorns.
00:16They have now knocked off Texas in three straight meetings.
00:20This was the most impressive.
00:21They win it by 25.
00:23And Georgia right now playing as good as any team in the nation.
00:26Yeah, they're playing like a championship football team.
00:30I said, after watching that game, Georgia played like the best team in the SEC.
00:35And Gunnar Stockton played like the best quarterback maybe in the country.
00:39And Kirby Smart coached like the best coach.
00:42I think they all did what they had to do because it's a bigger game.
00:45They're a team that seemed to respond.
00:47And they have gotten better and better.
00:50And like I said before, Kirby Smart goes out there.
00:53He knows how big the game is.
00:55Goes out there and goes for it on fourth down in his own territory twice.
00:59First time he makes it at fourth and one.
01:01The next time he pulls them off.
01:03Then he goes up 21 to 10 and kicks a surprise onside kick and does it successfully.
01:10All those things that Texas did not do.
01:14They rushed for 23 total yards of rushing.
01:17We said that was going to be a problem.
01:19So, right now, Georgia is playing like the team that when they get to the championship, whether it be against Texas A&M, I got a feeling it's going to be them and somebody in that SEC championship game.
01:30Yeah.
01:30Now, they didn't run it as good as they did, obviously, against Miss State.
01:34They put up a buck 28, 3.7 yards per carry.
01:38But, again, it's that front seven now.
01:40We talked about their inability maybe throughout the regular season to get quarterback pressures.
01:46They're now starting to get to the quarterback.
01:48They're forcing short, quicker throws.
01:50They forced Arch Manning into long third down situations.
01:54That secondary now is playing man-to-man coverage as good as any team that I've seen in the conference.
02:00And, again, when you talk about pedigree and you talk about built for the long haul, Georgia now is peaking at just the right time.
02:08And the other factor as well, Coach, I don't know if you saw the post-game press conference with Kirby Smart saying that, you know, kids come to the University of Georgia because of physicality.
02:20Some kids want to check.
02:22They preach physicality.
02:24Thoughts about that overall because we don't see that on a consistent basis throughout college football right now.
02:30Well, you know, and it's funny.
02:32I think of where Kirby Smart comes from.
02:34I told you when I was the head coach at Auburn, he was a safety, a monster, a strong safety at Georgia playing against me.
02:41And he would make tackles all over the field.
02:42He was a tough guy.
02:44And he's an old country boy from Georgia.
02:46He's blue collar.
02:48Everything about him is Nick Saban.
02:51Sarkeesian is an offensive guy.
02:53And I want to say he and Lane Kiffin, who worked with Nick, are offensive people.
02:58But Lane seems to have a little more dramatic overall package.
03:02But that's what Kirby Smart is.
03:04He is a physical coach who came up playing physical football.
03:09And I think that's what he brought to.
03:11That's what he took with him before he even got to Alabama.
03:13And he was reassured that that's the way you win championships when he went there.
03:17And that's what he's done at Georgia.
03:19So, again, that's what it takes.
03:21That's what he continues to do.
03:23And as I watch them play and I watch how they call plays and how they dominate and kind of physically dominate toward the end of the game,
03:31you got to win in November and you got to win fourth quarter.
03:34And he seems to understand that.
