00:00The Trump administration is reopening some of America's biggest unsolved mysteries,
00:04including those of Jimmy Hoffa, Amelia Earhart, JFK, MLK, and even the Epstein files.
00:10But why now?
00:11It's part of a bigger push by the Trump administration to revisit cold cases that have puzzled the public for decades.
00:17FBI employees were recently told to search all of their files for anything related to Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance.
00:23That came right after a similar order about Amelia Earhart.
00:26Supporters of the initiative, including Vice President J.D. Vance and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino,
00:32have praised the administration's efforts to declassify long-sealed records.
00:37Vance has called for full disclosure of Epstein-related documents,
00:40and Bongino has emphasized the public's right to know about historical investigations.
00:45Critics, however, point to the timing of these announcements.
00:48Bill Chappell of NPR noted that the MLK Jr. file release came just as public pressure mounted for transparency around the Epstein files.
