TOURIST RESCUED BY RIVERBOAT AS HOI AN FLOODS
WITH VID
BY TIM TONG
Watch the dramatic moment a tourist is rescued by boat amid severe flooding in Hoi An, Vietnam.
Kylie Wiebe, from White Rock, Canada, filmed the clip showing her seated on a bamboo riverboat as it navigates through what was once a street, now completely submerged and indistinguishable from the river itself.
Boxes, bags, and debris float on the murky brown water as locals steer through the flood, using a riverboat as the new transport of the street.
Posted on TikTok, the video gathered over 250,000 views,
Kylie said: “Even in the chaos I can see how magical Hoi An is.”
“The water level was as tall as me and I’m 5’3.”
