00:00Following the tea leaves of the Brian Kelly experience this past weekend was kind of funny to see.
00:06Kelly came in, left Notre Dame with a lot of fanfare at LSU.
00:11I mean, Bill, I've been watching Death Valley on Saturday nights for a really long time.
00:16When I saw that go down, I thought, yeah, he's going to get fired.
00:20I mean, I just haven't seen that ever.
00:22Like, they've lost to Alabama, Georgia, and stuff like that.
00:24But to get absolutely just slaughtered at home in front of those fans, there was just no coming back from that.
00:32Yeah, and when the aura of the night game wears off.
00:35I mean, for A&M to do that and Alabama the year before, and kind of like you, my column evolved as the night went on.
00:42And then it evolved into the following evening.
00:45I didn't think they would do it Sunday evening.
00:47But you knew his days were numbered at that point, especially with the buyout that they have, 53 million.
00:53And that wasn't LSU football.
00:55You saw former players weighing in on that.
00:57And I guess now the big question isn't, was Brian Kelly a dud at LSU?
01:02I mean, 34 and 14, no playoff appearances, that kind of thing.
01:06It really becomes, okay, you got rid of this coach.
01:10Who's going to be the next guy?
01:12Right.
01:12And here's some candidates here.
01:14Lane Kiffin, Jimbo Fisher, James Franklin, Joe Brady.
01:17What do you think?
01:19Well, I mean, everybody wants Lane Kiffin as their coach right now.
01:22And I'm not sure he leaves Ole Miss.
01:24And the biggest reason why is, if you look at what they've done the last three years, Ole Miss has the fourth best record in college football among power four schools.
01:33Behind, you know, the usual suspects, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon.
01:38So, when you look at that, then you say, well, why would he leave?
01:43He's got an NFL quarterback.
01:45They're probably going to get to the playoff.
01:47Why go to Florida or LSU unless the answer is, as it always is, money?
01:53And I think if that happens, then LSU would be a viable place for Lane Kiffin.
01:59The name I like is Joe Brady.
02:00We were talking about it at the break.
02:02Bill's offensive coordinator, he's young, has never been a head coach.
02:06But you can't tell me LSU's best team wasn't that 2019 team that had Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, and that high-scoring offense.
