00:00More accusations surrounding the massive sports betting scandal that shocked the world last week continue to unfold.
00:06So according to investigative reporter Pablo Torre, NFL Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates allegedly hosted and participated in a rigged poker game in Miami organized by Curtis Meeks.
00:18But Gates and his representatives are denying those accusations.
00:22So Curtis Meeks was indicted by federal prosecutors as part of the massive gambling scamble that rocked the NBA.
00:30Now he's indicted for his alleged involvement in high stakes poker fraud and illegal sports betting.
00:35So victims are claiming that they were duped out of big money.
00:39And one group even said that they were cheated for nearly one million dollars, where an ex-NFL star served as the face card for a game in which Meeks was a main participant.
00:50Gates's business manager, Denise White, has fired back at those claims, issuing a statement saying Antonio Gates has not been involved,
00:57nor has he been accused of any wrongdoing.
01:01Assertions to the contrary are false and without merit.
01:05There will be no further comments on this matter.
01:08Now it is important to note that Gates is not named in the federal indictments so far, nor did the victims name his name in those claims.
01:16Now, Torrey has not retracted his report or made any follow-up comments about it since he posted it on Sunday,
01:23but that's something that we're going to keep an eye on going forward.
01:26The federal indictment that was unsealed last week named more than 30 people and painted a picture of separate,
01:32elaborate sports betting and rigged poker game schemes that involved Trailblazers head coach Chauncey Billups,
01:39Heat guard, Terry Rozier, and former NBA player Damon Jones.
01:43We'll have more on this massive scandal and any news that drops, so stay locked in to the New York Post.
