00:00Research shows that remote work skyrocketed in recent years, but now work from home levels have dropped to their lowest point since the spring of 2020.
00:10Recent data from WFH Research shows that before the pandemic, 7.2% of work days were spent at home, but that number soared to 61.5% in May 2020.
00:22The rate has now stabilized at around 30%, but study leaders expect it to rise again as, quote, technologies improve and make remote collaboration more effective.
00:32The information and technology sector had the highest share of work from home employees, with 69%, followed by finance and insurance industries.
00:41Researchers noted these industries leaned strongly toward remote work due to high-paying, computer-intensive jobs, often located in major cities, where long commutes make remote work appealing.
00:53Greater Los Angeles led the way in remote work with a 34.4% rate for paid work days.
