00:00Odell Beckham Jr. begs NFL to do something about MetLife Stadium turf after Malik Neighbors' ACL tear.
00:07While the New York Giants got their first win of the season on Sunday, it came at a massive cost,
00:12as star wide receiver Malik Neighbors suffered a torn ACL.
00:16Neighbors will be undergoing an MRI on Monday to confirm the extent of the injury.
00:21With an ACL tear, Malik Neighbors will be out for the remainder of the season
00:25and will be aiming to have himself ready for the start of the 2026 season next September.
00:30Before the injury, Neighbors had 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
00:37Former New York Giants Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.,
00:41who has suffered two torn ACLs during his career,
00:44begged the NFL to make a change to MetLife Stadium's playing surface.
00:48In his tweet, OBJ referred to MetLife Stadium as Death Life,
00:52a reference to the number of Achilles tears that have happened there in recent years.
00:56Dear at NFL, I mean this with the utmost love and respect.
01:00We, the NFL, take all the precautions in the world with everything else when it comes to players' health and safety.
01:06Please, please, please get rid of the turf.
01:09Thank you in advance, Beckham tweeted on Sunday night after Neighbors' injury.
01:13Respect and you know I love the Giants,
01:16but Death Life has taken too many talented players away from the game.
01:19I know it's not all the turf's fault,
01:22but at least maybe it's to where we've gotten all the research done
01:26to if turf has to stay, it's at the highest of quality possible.
01:30At least, can we start the discussion?
01:32Since 2010, Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas, Jabril Peppers,
01:37Wandale Robinson, Sterling Shepard, Kyle Fuller, Aaron Rodgers, and Neighbors
01:42have torn their ACLs while playing at MetLife.
01:45What makes MetLife Stadium's infamously snake-bitten turf even more frustrating
01:50is the fact that it was just swapped out for natural grass earlier this summer
01:54for the 2025 Club World Cup
01:57and will likely be replaced with grass again next summer for the 2026 World Cup.
