00:00Obama says he's digging myself out of hole with Michelle.
00:05Former President Barack Obama has opened up about the strain his presidency placed on
00:09his marriage, saying he has spent years repairing his relationship with former First Lady Michelle
00:13Obama.
00:15Speaking at London's O2 Arena as part of his European tour, Barack reflected on the personal
00:20costs of his time in office.
00:22News.com has learned.
00:24Barack Obama admitted that his years in the White House created distance in his marriage
00:27to Michelle, but said he has worked to rebuild their connection since leaving office.
00:32He joked that he was digging himself out of the hole with Michelle and is now at about
00:36level ground.
00:37Obama called the process a challenge, noting the constant public scrutiny of their relationship.
00:43Speculation about their marriage resurfaced after Michelle skipped both Jimmy Carter's
00:47funeral in January and Donald Trump's 2024 inauguration.
00:52During the same event, Barack criticized Trump for his recent claims regarding autism and the
00:57medicine Tylenol.
00:58He went on to accuse the Republican president of committing violence against the truth.
01:03Trump's remarks came shortly before his administration announced a major autism research initiative.
01:09The president previewed the move at a memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk,
01:14saying tomorrow we're going to have one of the biggest announcements medically, I think,
01:19in the history of our country.
01:21According to reports, the initiative aims to identify environmental and medical factors behind
01:26autism, a plan that has drawn skepticism from medical experts who dispute any link between
01:31acetaminophen and the condition.
01:32Ken Vieux, the manufacturer of Tylenol, issued a statement rejecting the Trump administration's
01:38assertions about the medicine.
01:39We believe independent, sound science clearly shows that taking acetaminophen does not cause
01:45autism, a company spokesperson said in a statement.
01:49We strongly disagree with any suggestion otherwise and are deeply concerned with the health risk
01:54this poses for expecting mothers.
